It has been clear that the old Scandic Vaasa does require renovation and, in fact, it has been going on for a longer while. However it is impossible to stay on the room during daytime due to the noise. Luckily I was away but I suggest to restrict the part that is close to the ongoing works. I also hope that the renovation will bring some clarity abt the access to the second hotel building - at the moment you have to be at least PhD to (1) find, and (2) use the secondary elevator.

Experience was a bit terrible.
I stayed once in old building room 5XX in A building - ventilation in room was too much noisy and “windy” like someone put forced mode. I believe it is adjustable, but during the evening when engineering services are not available- there is no way. Difficult to relax after long trip
So I recommend to ask at reception if the ventilation is fixed.
Old rooms with sauna are very nice.

The place was a total disappointment. The room did not match the pictures at all. The surfaces were really worn, and the room smelled very bad. The toilet lid dripped on the floor because it wasn't attached to the seat at all. The jacuzzi was dirty, and the general look of the room was untidy. We got a new room on request which was just as bad. The only difference was that the broken toilet seat was replaced by a dirty one. I can only recommend the hotel to people who are looking for strange experiences in their lives. To not be too negative on my review, I have to say that frond door worked well, so exiting was a breeze.

Excellent location near the train station and walking distance to the town centre.
The hotel has two parts, one old and one new and the rooms are very different.
My room, in the old part, had a sauna and a jacuzzi!
Decent breakfast and friendly bar.

The hotel is very well placed, close to many activities, train station, buss, restaurants, etc. However, and despite is and historical building, it's highly important to update some features.
Rooms are getting old.
Elevators take us to floors, but to access rooms you still need to take stairs, hand carrind your luggage, which is not really nice, specially if you have some mobility problems or have kids.
The breakfast is amazing. Everything tastes really good and lot of variety.
Employees are kind and always ready to help.

Here for a wedding. The staff was very accommodating, rooms were large and clean. The restaurant was also very good. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Not bad. Staff friendly. Rooms are clean. But a little bit expensive and rooms need to be repaired. That is why 3 stars.

Nice hotel. The room with jacuzzi looks a bit old but clean. Also the location of the hotel is really convenient.
