Hotel Le Palma

WOW!! If you ever go to Angouleme, France (and you should)… This really is a great place to stay and a few minutes walk to the city center. Mike and family are such welcoming hosts, so incredibly kind and great to speak to as he speaks really good English if you’re like me and haven’t learned enough French to be proficient 😆. Amazing atmosphere, service and the room is extremely clean and well kept. I was brought breakfast to my room without asking, it was offered, freshly baked croissants with jams, bread, yogurt, Cafe Latte etc (proper French breakfast). I stayed in room 10 with an amazing balcony view overlooking Angouleme. I feel at home when I am thousands of miles away from home. I just can’t say enough to express my gratitude for this stay, I would pay double what I paid to stay here hands down! Merci beaucoup!!!!!

It’s 2 star so room was as expected but the air con worked really well, shower was good and bed comfortable. All you need. The duty manager was really great, very friendly, good English and obliging with information. Highly recommend if you need a night or two at a budget rate. To be aware - check in is 4pm so the place isn’t staffed until then, not sure from what time it is closed but take note if arriving before 4pm - we arrived just before so it was ok to wait ten minutes.

Hotel Le Palma is your home away from home. Your every penny will be worth it. They have pretty low price of such nice accommodation compared to other hotels in Angoulême. They have a very homey feel like rooms, very clean, well ventilated, with a spacious toilet and shower, big cupboard/cabinet/ dresser or whatever you call it, a TV and hair dryer (upon request). It is a small two star hotel run/ manage by a nice and friendly family. They speak French, English and Spanish. They treat their guests as family or friends. When you come in, you will be received with a smile and sincere salutation. The hotel doesn't have a lift but if you have baggage the family are very much willing to help. The hotel is near to everything as it is in the city center (centre ville) next to restaurants, cafés, shops, groceries, train station, bus stop, cinema, school, and of course beautiful churches. They serve breakfast buffet (coffee, orange/apple juice, tea, different fruits, confeiture, charcuterie, yogurts, baguettes, cake bars, and your choice of raisin bread, croissant or pan au chocolate (it's like croissant but with a chocolate filling in a rectangular shape) you can ask one of eac if you'd like :D if you need anything, you can ask them, they are very much willing to help their guests. Highly recommended.

Great location. Well isolated from noise, well air-conditioned, large room, very decent breakfast and above all a very welcoming and helpful staff. No elevator so be aware of that for older people.
My bike was secured inside. 👍

I stayed 4 days for an internship in Angouleme and it was nice to return to this hotel every evening.
The managers are very warm and their welcome is impeccable.
Always listening and good advice to give throughout the stay.
I will come back without hesitation!
