A cheap but lovely hotel. I booked it as our was close to the railway station, but still in the direction of the city. It is a small and charming hotel, with access to a jacuzzi. The rooms are simple, but has everything you need.
The staff was very helpful, and I appreciated the breakfast. Thank you for a nice stay!

Great place to stay in Clermont-Ferrand
Great service. The rooms are great with just what you need. It's very clean and the hotel still has its own atmosphere and personality.

We tried the new restaurant "bouillon Ravel", the magnificent setting, very bohemian, suggests a light, warm and authentic atmosphere. We were offered a drink at the counter while waiting for our table. With the double door open to the hotel, we suppose an invitation, a welcome, we take a few steps to look at the setting of the hotel, the door being open. And the reality is quite different, one of the bosses freezes us and calls out to us like potential thieves: "what are you doing? Are you going upstairs? Are you looking for a room?". The charm immediately fades, giving way to a series of disappointments, both in attitude and on the plate. Meat impossible to cut, because there was no suitable knife, a non-existent exchange with the suspicious boss, he had decided that I was a thief who should be ignored. When it was time to pay, however, we were offered a tango! Surreal... we refuse, it doesn't matter, we offer it to someone else, leaving us at the counter waiting for the bill...

Promising place but in its original state, what a shame, a nice little hotel, vintage decor with patio...a beautiful program...but it must be said in very poor condition! No maintenance, walls damaged by time, patio not maintained... bar staff however very friendly it is only a shame not to have free access to the patio which calls us from the bedroom window.. With a stifling heat in this month of August, it would have been nice to be able to enjoy a little coolness in the evening.. but 10 p.m. passes the clause...forced to go out into a street with a dubious atmosphere in the neighborhood.. Moreover a single window that can be opened at will, the second being closed, we don't know why... In short, not the most pleasant stay in a place that just needs a little facelift... too bad...

I loved this place. Decidedly not fancy, but has everything a traveller needs and more. The rooms are dated, but in a charming way, and very clean and tidy. I had an excellent sleep. The real highlight was the staff and the overall vibe of the hotel. I felt welcomed which helped make an otherwise lacklustre stop in Clermont-Ferrand very nice. We don’t always have a choice as to where we have to stop while travelling, but hopefully we have a choice where we stay. I’d choose The Old Hotel Ravel on returning to Clermont-Ferrand. Merci!

Great location, mid way between the station and the centre of town. Definitely an old building, but cheerful enough. Rooms a good size, beds were incredibly comfortable. A little over warm at night, but fans were provided or you can open a window. We had a late check in but instructions provided were very thorough.

We paid 50 Euros for two people and hotel exceeded our expectation by far. Lobby is beautiful, owner beyond friendly, breakfast is great, Room was clean, beds were comfortable, internet fast ... and most importantly it has a Jaccuci.
In that price range it's one of the best hotel I've been in.
