Excellent hotel with a very good restaurant. The rooms are very clean, the people nice and professional. The view from some room is very awesome. There is a park around the hotel, from there you can walk to the city. The parking is very comfortable.

Room 55 is the corner room on the top floor. 2 exposures. Each with a window seat. Beautiful views of the sea, cliffs and town. You won't want to leave...

The most dire place I’ve stayed in I think ever. Very much mislead by their other positive reviews
The Hotel
At check-in we were mostly ignored and had to wait for 15 minutes around a busy reception. Lift does not go to the room, but have to take stairs through a fire exit. The rooms are incredibly grotty and dated, and the double beds are two single mattresses pushed together. The bathroom stinks of sewage when hoi upended up the bath plug. Cleaning is noisy waking up at 9 am.
Add to this that rooms are not cheap, and the view that you are paying for, you can get everywhere in town.
The Restaurant
Made a booking for 21h as they didn’t have earlier. Incredibly rudely treated on arrival. It feels like you are there at the pleasure of the staff and you are lucky to be there at all. No table was available at 21h, and we had to wait until 21h40 to be seated, with no apology whatsoever. Staff continued to be rude, so we left the restaurant and eventually had to find food in town after 22h.

The stay in the annex building was a great experience. The building is facing to the east and even though the rooms are close to a rather busy street at daytime, it's really quiet during nighttime. The rooms have a very nice interior design, cosy bed linen, large beds and at least two of them are very spacious. It's clean, bright and I got the impression of a timeless elegance.

We spent two delightful nights at the Dormy House in Étretat. What a wonderful experience! Our suite was absolutely gorgeous. It was so nicely decorated, roomy, and bright. And, the view from the balcony was stunning! The staff were all very helpful and knowledgeable. The dinners were delicious, with excellent service, and the view from the restaurant was also stunning. The breakfast buffet offered a wonderful variety of items. The Dormy House is situated on a hill, providing the best possible vantage point. Access to the paths to the cliffs, the beach, or the town, is right off of the gardens in the back of the hotel.
Our time in Étretat was very special, and we are so very happy that we chose to stay at the Dormy House!

This hotel was amazing! The view is breathtaking and the rooms have great views. Dinner in the restaurant was also wonderful! We can't wait to come back!

comfortable hotel close to the beach with a very nice garden from where we have a great view when enjoy the coffee or wine. Enough parking spaces. Downside: Wifi is poor, but luckily i have enough data by myself.

You will not be dissapointed. This hotel is a jem. Our room was spacious, well appointed along with a beautiful view. We chose to have dinner at the Dormy. The food and service was spot on.
Parking can be a challenge at the Dormy. Considering the quality of service a lone improvement would be valet parking.

Dormy House is a lovely comfortable hotel with stunning views. The staff were friendly and professional. However, just a couple of things prevented me giving it 5 stars. I'm vegetarian and I emailed the hotel in advance to check if the restaurant had a vegetarian option. I was assured that it did - and was sent a menu that included a vegetarian dish. However, when we at the restaurant I was told that there was no longer a vegetarian dish on the menu but the chef could do 'some vegetables and potatoes' for me. Fortunately the chef did subsequently agree to do spaghetti, vegetables and sauce for me - and it was very nice! However, please can you reinstate your vegetarian option, and please make it more substantial - and interesting - than vegetables and potatoes!! Also, please put kettles in the rooms! My partner and I arrived soaking wet after a long cycle ride and it would have been good to have been able to make a hot drink without having to go down to the bar.

Etretat and our stay at the Dormy house was one of the highlights of our trip. Treat yourself to a suite... The room and bathroom are expansive and decorated beautifully. We had three sets of french doors leading to a balcony overlooking the cliffs. The town and boardwalk are a very quick walk down a lovely path and I was able to hike to the chapel for sunrise fairly easily. By the time I returned, we were able to finish out the morning with a breakfast of fresh orange juice and croissants while enjoying our perfect view. The dinner at the restaurant was impeccable... Every course better than the one prior and extremely reasonable for the type of food and service. Do yourself a favor and book early to have a table with a view. The staff at reception was all very welcoming and accommodating. I commented on several occasions that I felt like I was living in a scene out of the Great Gatsby. 5 stars all around... An experience you aren't likely to forget.
