Hotel is lovely BUT! Location is wonderful, rooms are comfortable, parking is easy but make sure your room is above floor 1 as our room was opposite the restaurant. Noisy guests both for breakfast and evening meal spoilt it - kept us awake and woke us up.

It was all in all a good experience. Menton is a small but cute town with nice historical areas with beautiful view. Had many dining options nearby the hotel as well. We enjoyed the karaoke night.

Very nice hotel with good rooms. Size is average, but comfortable. Staff is very friendly and professional, with a single exception at reception. Breakfast was very average and the management of the restaurant room quite appalling. It s a very large room with three sections, with people all over, table not always cleaned. It would have been better to cordon off some areas and guide the traffic better...

Although nicer from the outside, very much a seaside town hotel from the 1970s. Not in a bad way, but even the evening entertainment ("1980s karaoke") had all the trappings from a seaside holiday 50 years 40 years ago. The rooms were big, functional, but a bit spartan. I would come back, if I will ever be in Menton again---and hopefully the garden will not be under construction anymore.

well positioned, easy to reach the centre and the beach

We have never experienced such pleasant service. Every person at the desk is super nice. Have no complaints about any noise. Simple beverage and coffee available 24/7. Room layout somewhat odd, with person taking shower being visible from the room (red glass), but that adds some experience... OK breakfast, few good items like small pancakes and fresh orange juice.

Great hotel with great service. The location is perfect for the beach and restuarants etc, nothing is more than a 10 minute walk away, including the train station. The breakfast is good and they will also provide a beach towel which is a really nice touch. It's OK I guess. They have parking. Later Edit: since the hotel posted the lengthy comment, might as well add that the Hotel actually was pleasant, with free beverages to cool you off at the reception, and it is really close to the beach. But the downtown parking is actually what sold me on it xD

We stayed for 4days and it was a great time and experience. The Management and staff are very friendly and attentive to details. They were speaking English very well with a smile to understand your needs. It’s just that it was quite noisy due to nearby roads. Nevertheless it was amazing. Sure thing that this hotel is highly recommended. Top! 👍🏻

We stayed here for 2 nights. The service was nice and everyone really friendly. However, the room and especially the bathroom could definitely be cleaner. There was even mold in the shower. But for the price overall quite good.

Want the beauty of the French Riviera without fighting with the tourists? Head to Menton Garavan by train and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of this beautiful place without paying an arm and leg. The hotel is easy and right next to the sea and a beautiful swimming spot is only 10 minutes easy walk away! Only suggestions is that the hotel add a reminder to guests to not be too loud after 10pm. :)

Brilliant place, not sure why the reviews are mixed. I paid £40 a night for a four night stay, the room was small but for a solo traveller it was perfect, great aircon and a balcony overlooking the port. 20 minute stroll to Menton town but passing some fabtatsic beach bars on the way. Will definitely come back, what a bargain!

Clean comfortable room. Parking was good but expensive.

The single beds were really small, much smaller than other single beds we had in other hotels. We were put in a room with a sea view that was partially blocked by palm trees. The toilets did not flush properly and the AC didnt work. They dont even give you complimentary water bottles. For the price you pay, this was poor quality. We stayed in other hotels in this trip for way cheaper and got much better...

The hotel rooms are really nice and we’ve been upgraded for free. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. However when we went up to the rooftop bar we were met with some of the worst and most watery cocktails our tongues have ever touched. We also tried the Mexican tapas platter and to say it in a kind way… the room service wasn’t happy when they had to unclock our toilet due to the reheated...

We stayed in Menton for three days. We were initially assigned a room on the first floor, right above the entrance. It was awful. Fortunately, we were able to upgrade to a room on the fifth floor with a balcony. The service was excellent, especially Ewelina, who ensured our comfort and created a pleasant atmosphere.

The hotel's location is very good and convenient to everything, but the hotel facilities are old and simple. In addition, the bathroom design is not reasonable and it is easy to get water all over the floor.

Overall we liked it, but not atop of my list. Let's start from the positives: great customer service in any possible sense. Roberto and Co. did everything possible to move us to another room because the one I booked was not what I was imagining. Loved our stay here. The hotel is close to the train station but the hotel is quiet. From the station for those with luggage - cross the plaza and take an elevator down to the street. Take a right and the hotel is just down the street to your left. The staff is lovely, extremely helpful and the rooms are bright and comfortable. The hotel is walkable to everything. Highly recommend.

Convenient location, good service, average facilities

The bathroom in the room is enough for one person, the facilities are a bit simple, and the service is enthusiastic. It is close to the train station, less than 100 meters away, so if you see that the train is on time, you can go back to the hotel to pick up your luggage in time. The train in Menton is unreliable.

Quirky, very comfortable and absolutely the best place to stay in Menton. Not a big hotel, with 23 rooms, but so clean and quiet, only a 5 minute walk to the station, and 10 to the promenade and beach. Fabulous hosts, so nice, kind and helpful. We were very sad to leave. The hotel is very good. The gate and yard need IC cards to open, which is relatively safe. Parking is available on the street in front of the hotel, but you need to pay. You can rest in the yard, which is relatively quiet. The staff also gave us a map of Menton.

I feel like I should have given this place 2 stars since it's in the title. This hotel is ⭐⭐ so not extremely fancy. Just a clean and pleasant ⭐⭐ hotel. But the people in there were super nice. We are used to a lot of air-conditioning and found our room to be a little hot, but the bathrooms were extremely clean. The man at the desk (I assume is the owner) is absolutely lovely.

Owners are lovely and very helpful but the hotel is tired and in need of an overhaul. That said, reasonably priced for a 2 star hotel with a great location.

A basic 2 star hotel but very clean and the beds were so comfortable. Location is central. Excellent value for money. Definitely recommend. No need to pay more. NB no hairdryer in rooms

Clean room but no air conditioning or fans. Very noisy neighborhood so sleeping with windows and door open to get air very hard. Good location wise to two metro Probably better to stay late fall or winter.

A superb stay with a warm welcome. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived at the end of a long tiring day on bike with our young children. The lady at reception was so helpful over the phone (which decided our choice) and then she proceeded to find a secure lockup for our bikes, going above and beyond anything required to give us peace of mind. Situated in Menton City Centre which is a good location. Staff are nice.

Although the hotel is old, it has the basic facilities, the rooms are clean and tidy, and the location is excellent, close to the beach, within walking distance. Restaurants are easy to find and there are many options nearby. The only drawback is that there are relatively few parking spaces, and the street outside the hotel is quite busy, so there is no convenient place to load and unload luggage.

The hotel is very conveniently located, everything is close by: the beach, the city center, and shops. Our windows overlooked the courtyard and it was quiet in the room. Towels and linen were white, changed every day! For undemanding travelers, if you walk all day and just come to sleep, the hotel is quite suitable. We loved this hotel. It was ideally located across from the beach. The private sun lounge was incredible with its beautiful views of the ocean and below.

Good Just an overnight stay due to a missed train. The hotel's big advantage is that it is centrally located and beautifully by the sea. It is also clean and fresh. However, it has been a long time since the hotel was renovated except for the dining room. Therefore it gives a simpler feeling. Nice place. Right across from the water. Older building but most are. About 1,6 km/1 mile walk to center along beaches to Menton center. Several staff speak English and Italian and of course French. Fabulous 10 days at this 'Belle Epoque' hotel. Big rooms and the most amazing, silent air con which was a treat in 30 degree heat of August and ensures a great night sleep. For a budget stay and considering its location, I would recommend this hotel if you will be on the east side of Monaco (near the Italian border). Overall, I am satisfied. It is an 11-minute walk from the station and the old town of Menton, where Zhong Chuxi's check-in wall is very popular. It takes less than half an hour to walk there. If you walk along the coastline, it is also comfortable and convenient to take the bus. The overall style of the hotel is very holiday.

My husband & I have just returned home from our week long holiday in Menton, researching my family's name on war memorial. The location is great for the old town and Menton Garavan station with frequent trains to other resorts.
