The reception staff was really friendly and spoke Portuguese. The room was nice and way more spacious than the budget in Cannes. The bathroom seemed to have been recently renovated.
The parking is very crammed. I struggled to park a compact SUV. Taking many many back and forwards to do so. The hotel does warn clients about this.
A bit far from the center of Menton but just a 20 min stroll down the promenade. There's no bus after 8.30 pm.

The location is perfect, just a 10-minute walk from the old town. The working hours are from 6 am to 11 am, and from 5 pm to 9 pm. There is an automated system in front where you need to enter your booking number, and the price is calculated per day. This means that on weekends, a single day might be more expensive than others, but the total cost will be the same as what was originally booked. View was awesome!

We stayed here for 2 nights. The service was nice and everyone really friendly. However, the room and especially the bathroom could definitely be cleaner. There was even mold in the shower. But for the price overall quite good.

Really surprised by all of these wonderful reviews. Yes. This is a “budget” hotel, but budget does not excuse mold. Budget does not excuse lack of reception service, and budget does not excuse NO PARKING (unless you ride maybe a scooter, you might fit in the parking area). This, without exaggeration, was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, anywhere in the world.
We arrived to find our car would not even fit down the road to the parking garage. Attempting to back up because there was a sign stating you must check in before parking. Ok, go to front door - LOCKED. greeted with flyers on the doors stating “no reception except for these hours”, “self check in kiosk only”, etc. Attempting to figure out the check in kiosk, a man with a beer comes over to try and help. Turns out he is a “friend” of the owner but actually lives in the hotel with his dog. His dog is not friendly towards other dogs and escaped twice in the lobby. He even stated himself that it would “not be good” if his dog was around another dog. I cannot explain the chaos in this hotel. There’s so much confusion and NO ONE to help. Fast forward to the second day, we go to the beach and come back only to find our code expired to get into the lobby door. Turns out, you must check in EVERY DAY at the kiosk. We didn’t bring our wallets because we were at the beach. So our wallets were locked in our room. There was luckily a cleaning lady there that was nice enough to let us in our room to get our wallet to check in at the kiosk for our second night. I’m not sure what we would have done if she didn’t help us because again - there is NO RECEPTION for most of the day.
When I tell you I have never been happier to leave a hotel. 😒

- No parking unless you drive a 2 door coupe or a scooter maybe.
- Mold all over the bathroom
- No shower curtain or door, so the bathroom flooded every time someone showered
- Uncomfortable beds
- Most confusing check in system ever, with no one to help
- Sink water smelled like sulfur (brushed teeth with bottled water)
- far walk to main city area (20-25 minutes)

Want the beauty of the French Riviera without fighting with the tourists? Head to Menton Garavan by train and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of this beautiful place without paying an arm and leg.
The hotel is easy and right next to the sea and a beautiful swimming spot is only 10 minutes easy walk away!
Only suggestions is that the hotel add a reminder to guests to not be too loud after 10pm. :)

Brilliant place, not sure why the reviews are mixed. I paid £40 a night for a four night stay, the room was small but for a solo traveller it was perfect, great aircon and a balcony overlooking the port. 20 minute stroll to Menton town but passing some fabtatsic beach bars on the way. Will definitely come back, what a bargain!
