Hotel Richelieu

I stayed for five days, all the staff very friendly, they let me keep my bicycle inside by reception at very short notice. I was given advice about what to see when cycling up in the hills. Room was ideal for my needs and the location is great. I will definitely return.

The Hotel is officially 2 Star, it was a very nice surprise, that the Staff at the reception is 5-Star!

Lovely staff all very helpful indeed especially reception who were also very efficient. . Cleaner/chambermaid (my floor 3rd floor) doing an excellent job of keeping hotel very clean to a high standard. Alas room 208 my niece was in had a really bad odour of urine and the plumbing needs urgently looking into, we even felt the overflow was dripping on the plants outside as that didn’t smell like the plants were being watered with tapwater either! My room 323 was fine and when window and shutters were shut I didn’t hear any road noise at all. Shower cubicle very small but fine for me but if you are a very large person might not be, Water was nice and hot and lovely hand and shower towels. Hotel is in a very good location, can walk to the restaurants in 5 minutes. Menton train station is the station you need to get off for this hotel.( NOT Menton Garavan) If arriving it’s a 7 minute walk downhill. I walked easily up to the station when going to Italy etc which is slightly uphill but not really steep also in 8 mins and I’m not young. remember you must buy your ticket before getting on train and click it on the machine at the station to validate it, no ticket and no validation and you are likely to get a very expensive fine.

I have no complaints to make, except the very bad sound insulation between the rooms. I couldn’t sleep for a whole 2 hours because I could hear someone snoring through the walls.

Clean and spacious room, nice staff. Stayed here at the end of a bicycle trip and appreciated being able to put my bike in my room.

Good base to experience Menton and the area
If you read the reviews they are mixed. However it is a 2* hotel do not expect 5* standards.
Clean room, en-suite(even though a tiny bathroom), Aircon. Yes it is a bit dated but it is good enough for the price range.
Definitely would book it again if I return to Menton

We really enjoyed our stay. Stay were lovely. Accommodation was basic but had everything we needed and location was central to everything.

4 stars, because it's good quality for money.

When booking this hotel it was one of the cheaper options available, so I knew my expectations had to be modest. We had a decent room with comfortable beds and working a/c. The hotel is located on a relatively quiet street. We had a decent night of sleep.

I do not recommend booking the breakfast. In this region, it's kind of normal to give a basket with pre-packed toast, pre-packed croissant, pre-packed..... you get my point. If you like (just like me) a solid breakfast that will keep you up & running for half a day, then instead exit the hotel, turn left and go to the artisan bakery on the corner with Av. Boyer - you may spend less on your breakfast (or not, if you decide to order some freshly prepared sandwich).

One important note: do make sure the hotel staff releases the pre-authorised amount (blocked on your card when booking) when paying for the room, as I needed an entire month to get it back.

If you want a hotel that is not just clean, comfortable and great price/quality ratio, but also offers a nice bonus of hospitality and a friendly attitude with an individual approach to each guest, this is the place for you!

We were looking for a nice hotel in the area for a family vacation. The rooms are nice. The service is outstanding. Location is about as good as it gets. Menton is a beach community that is much more relaxed than others and is absolutely beautiful. It was our favorite community of our trip.
