The Originals City, Hôtel Le Beaujoire, Nantes in Nantes

The hotel is close to the stadium for the RWC, it's easy to access from the motorway and there is a 30 min transfer into the centre of Nantes via a tram.  There is parking behind the hotel too.  It's a really  basic hotel, no A/C (something to consider if you are planning a summer visit),but also in October when it's warm as the room was unbearable and we had to have the windows open all night. Breakfast is extra and the room is small!  The shower was powerful and hot though which was a bonus!  At the end of the day it was a bed!!!

We arrived at 3pm but were kept waiting to gain access to our room and although we we were sat in reception we had to keep asking for our room. After a long day travelling we were tired.

Also one thing I will say is housekeeping came in to service the room the next day at 11am, so I sat outside the hotel bar waiting for them to finish so I could to gain access.  Our hotel room was left open and unattended for a long time with all of our belongings in it anyone could have walked in to the room and taken things. So the next day we put the hanger on the door asking them not to service the room for fear of it being left open again.  This isn't good but  especially when your room opens onto the car park anyone could have entered our room and taken stuff.

Also they were very tight on the toilet paper and we ran out!

We found the hotel to be quiet despite their being a main road next to it that was until Monday morning at around 6am and then it became very noisy - bearing in mind we had to have our window open as it was so warm.

The room was nice although I did find several pieces of old food on the floor which did make me question how sanitized the room was. Under the current circumstances this would be my priority. And there was an unpleasant smell from the bathroom so we did need to air the room out to get rid of it.

I paid 90 euro for a superior room which is still very small with only a velux window. I think the size of a normal room is almost the same. The bathroom was ok, maybe that is a little bit bigger than standard rooms. The staff is very nice and the restaurant was good too. There is a nice park nearby where you can walk or go for jogging.
