After canceling my reservation by email, they still used my master card, which was necessary to make the booking, and collected the money from my account
Bad experience with this hotel

This was not a great experience, the lady at the reception was not friendly at all, i could already tell by the tone of her voice when i called the hotel to confirm our arrival time. She was sarcastic and we felt like we disturbed her and that she didn't want to show us the premises. They been there for more than 10 years. Interesting. Anyway avoid, service was too bad, room and location was ok.

We were very excited about having booked a room here. After checking the internet it seemed wonderful and as we showed up through the gate and small garden, we were full of excitement.

However this excitement quickly faded as we got to the desk and I out of politeness tried to speak and understand french.

The lady's tone (who I later found out was the "boss") and manner of addressing me was rude to the point where my travel companions who speak 0 french understood how uncomfortable this was too. She was talking extremely quick and refused to even try and explain anything in English while there was a sign behind her stating "English spoken here". Moreover she made fun of me in an unfriendly way for mentioning that we booked through booking.com to help her find our booking.

I don't really write negative reviews ever but I wanted to convey the emotion we went through and frankly how it deeply affected our one day in Tours.

The lady behind the reception the next day was rather kind and understanding and I want to thank her for addressing the issue. Very unfortunate that the boss can't provide the bare minimum to newly arrived guests in a nice and welcoming way. Do better.

Average facilities in a well located hotel. The attitudes of the staff are of an age gone by. They don't take critical reviews well and will never learn (watch the response to this.) The parking is limited to 4 cars and apparently must be booked in advance. This is WEEKS in advance in August. The toilet waste stack from the rooms above flows thru the ground floor room with no insulation. This is not a planning control issue by the way. There is no air con and room I had was right on the street luckily it wasn't that hot but watch out for it. For a stay over on the way thru France it's too much of a pain and I won't be returning. No doubt they will be more than happy with this fact
