Tagli Resort & Villas in Arachova

Our group of 21 stayed off season. Shortly before we arrived, we were told the restaurant was closed, but we negotiated to bring a cheese board to the bar. For the second night, they refused, giving no reason. In addition, most rooms didn't have plugs for the bath/ shower, the basin tap sprayed you with water, some fridges had exploded coke, uncleaned, the breakfast was minimal, some rooms weren't serviced. So different to normal Greek hospitality. Our guide was appalled. So, beware. No way is it 5 star

Our group of 21 stayed off season. Just before we arrived, we were told the restaurant would be closed, and the place is 20 minutes drive to nearest town. We negotiated to bring cheese board to drink in their bar, spending $$$$. Next day, not allowed, no reason given. In the rooms, no plug in bath / shower, which so dangerous to get out of. No non slip mat. The basin tap sprayed you with water. The credit card machine didn't even work, had to pay in cash. Have to wonder about that. Young staff were lovely, but manager very rude and unhelpful. I would warn anyone from going there.

Stayed for two nights (September 1&2) as part of a 22-member "high-end" group tour travelling across Greece. When booked, Tagli management failed to advise the tour organisers that the restaurant was closed. So no dinner was available and only a very basic breakfast. Unacceptable behaviour from the hotel management. No bar food available with drinks, and their EFPOS machine wasn't working on checkout, so no credit card payment available - only cash accepted. Having travelled to over 60 countries, this experience was a very poor reflection on the wonderful people of Greece. Worst hotel experience anywhere in Europe in recent memory.

I travel extensively, but don’t usually leave reviews. However, my experience at this hotel has been so poor that I feel compelled to do so. This hotel does not warrant a 5-star rating for many reasons. The rooms have combined bath/shower, but no plugs so forget about having a bath. Turning on the water in the hand basin is likely to see you splashed with water. The breakfast buffet is modest and well short of what should be offered by a 5-star hotel. The wine selection is quite limited. The eftpos machine would not work for the majority of our group, so we were forced to pay by cash. Even worse, the attitude of the duty manager was very poor (to say the least) and not in keeping with Greek hospitality. Even our experienced tour guide was embarrassed by the treatment our group received. If you are contemplating coming to this hotel, think twice. Then, opt for somewhere else.

We stayed as a party of 22 pre booked guests on the 1st and 2nd of September 2024 .
We were only told last minute the restaurant was not available , although we were 30 mins drive to the closest town .
With an up beat , make the most of things approach we organised cheeses and nibbles of our own to accompany the drinks we purchased in the bar area.
The next evening , we were told we could not repeat the arrangement. With no alternative , and at such short notice , we now resorted to a communal room sharing “party “ .
Our group is most resourceful , and we made the most of things , but from beginning to end we felt unwelcome .
We have had a marvellous tour of Greece , met with generosity and enthusiasm every where we have been , other than at this badly run hotel .
At least Basil Fawlty had a working dining room
( even if it did require a can opener ) .
Throw into the mix a very difficult approach shower / bath arrangement, a spraying every which way but down basin tap , a fridge which was sprayed with sticky Coca Cola and white wine served at room temperature with stale chips at the bar , safes that didn’t work properly and yes things were not top notch.
Being required to settle our bills with cash only ( as apparently the efpos machine
wasn’t working was our partying memory of this unforgettable ( for all the wrong reasons ) stay .

The experience at this 5-star hotel was profoundly disappointing. The bath lacked a plug, making it unusable, and the basin tap sprayed water unexpectedly. Breakfast options were severely limited, falling short of any 5-star standard. The most frustrating aspect was the manager's unhelpfulness, showing little interest in addressing guests' concerns. Overall, this hotel fails to meet the expectations of a luxury stay. Save your money and look elsewhere.
