Reviews
On the other hand, not very clean, old hotel, overpriced, noisy (very very noisy due to being next to the airport) but also very noisy hotel in general. Generally speaking im not happy with my stay there. This hotel has great potential but is in desperate need of renovation.
P.S.
You can rent a boat for 4 hours and go to Vido island to swim and relax in the clean water, don't go too far, don't waste your time!
We travelled all over Corfu by car and found that the hotels bay is the warmest!
Room was not ready upon arrival, which was fine, and we were advised that we'd receive a phone call when it was ready. 4 hours later we went back to the reception desk to ask where our phone call was and it was as if the receptionist had never seen us in her life - or knew what we were talking about.
The pool was in need of a good scrub! The stone sides were all grimy and dirty. The sharing pool was also really green at the bottom (although we did see them cleaning this later on in the evening but the build up was certainly not just from one day). We also ordered a sandwich by the pool and we were told 10 minutes….. 30 minutes later we went to ask where it was and they had forgotten all about it. Came in a lovely cardboard pizza box though...........
At dinner, we asked for a bottle of red wine from the menu – but we were advised that, from a list that was 2 pages long, only the first 2 bottles were available. I did enjoy the food, however.
The worst part of our one night stay was that our hotel room door did not work (would not open). We were stuck inside the room! Called reception and they said they'd send a handyman. 20 minutes later i had to call reception again to remind them and they insulted us by telling us about the "little round knob", aka the lock, under the handle... We know how to open doors, we are capable people, but the door literally would not open. Handyman came, entered via an actual key (not the key card) and then shut the door, trapping us in again - there was nowhere to insert an actual key inside of the room! Reception just kept telling us to go to dinner and it would be sorted afterwards - they didn't grasp that we could not exit our room! 45 minutes later, we were out of the room. Someone came to fix the door but he couldn't so we had to switch rooms - to a "lake view" (it's the runway view) when we'd paid for sea view. The hotel did, in fairness, offer us late check out the next day, which we accepted, but the whole stay was just awful. We were there for one night and we hated every moment of it. Avoid.
The cleaners do their best but the furniture in the room is old and smells musty. Aeroplane noise is not what you want to hear all day.
Rubbish below our window, although when we complained the staff said it was discarded items not rubbish.
The restaurant staff are all lovely, especially the lady chef, she was helpful with my vegan choices.
Lots to choose from but the food was always cold. There needs to be a microwave in the restaurant area not just in the kitchen.
I can't say anything good about the staff in reception, Jenny I think that she's the tourist manager, a very unpleasant person, needs to go on a training course in good manners.
It's not a hotel that I would go to again.
Bungalow B6 fantastic view on the end
6 rooms sharing a pool overlooking mouse island ..low occupancy at the time we went so all the better for us ..maybe an issue if all occupied
Unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues lack of hand rails and steps everywhere
Don’t expect to beable to put your make up on only mirror in bathroom which is dimly lit ..and not full length..did ask to see if they could assist ..nothing came back
No drawers in room so most of clothes stayed in suitcase
Dress code in restaurant not adhered to so went with the flow until one night I was made to go and replace my husband’s shoes ..when a vast majority of diners were in the same footwear ..asked for feedback ..none came
Corporate event on for two days ..which made us feel undervalued as a guest ..bars and restaurants too busy with the candidates at this conference..items not replenished at breakfast quick enough ..main pool area blanked off to guests for corporate events gala on the Saturday ..not good enough..
Have stayed at various hotels in Corfu love the island ..but would not come back here ..I feel the identity of the hotel is mixed ..definitely not to entertain us tourists ..shame because the actual setting is nice
B5 was not occupied for most of our stay due to leaking ceiling ..two days before we left it was made up to accommodate a family ..definitely Not tourists ..made us feel extremely uncomfortable..let alone must have been bad for them to live with a dripping ceiling ..
Management need to review a lot of things in this hotel ..and learn to art of communication with their paying guests
Won’t be returning
