Vedema, a Luxury Collection Resort, Santorini

I rarely comment on hotels (mostly wine and dine is my focus) but Vedema at Santorini has made a very memorable impression during our stay here I feel they deserve a special mention. The staff at reception was very friendly and their WhatsApp communication is so efficient that all our needs (such as transportation) are promptly taken care of. The hotel premise itself has a lot of photogenic spots and their poolside breakfast is also very pleasant. Rooms are very spacious and the color tone blends into the Santorini spirit. It seems they are still expanding with new villas being built! Glad we choose this hotel!

My family and I had a wonderful time at the resort. The staff were great and very attentive. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the fact the hotel was located in a more quiet area of the island. I also want to recognize George from Blue Horizon Car rentals. George was very friendly , easy to work with and informative. He provided parking recommendations for every village we went to which was so helpful. I highly recommend using them if you need to rent a car.

I absolutely loved this property. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The amenities were great. The restaurants were delicious. I appreciate the hospitality and atmosphere of Vedema. It’s a great location and you can walk to nearby shops and restaurants. You definitely should check this property out. My wife and I really enjoy ourselves.

I can’t express enough how great this resort is! The customer service is outstanding. They were quick to respond to concerns and issues. The rooms were spacious. The only thing I’d change would be the showers in the bathrooms. They are too small. But the tubs are deep and luxurious. They anticipate your every need, even including toothbrushes in the bathroom kits. There are 2 pools, a great breakfast and plenty of restaurants/quaint shops nearby . You can immerse yourself in the Grecian culture. I even loved the bells that rang on the hour (and 5 mins before the hour).

I can’t speak highly enough about the Vedema resort in Megalochori: this was the best hotel we’ve ever had the pleasure to visit. My husband and I went to Santorini for 4 nights to celebrate our babymoon. When we arrived via private hotel transfer, Anastasia warmly greeted us and began offering her recommendations on activities and dining experiences. She has amazing taste, and even better recommendations, don’t pass up on the chance to chat with her!

Everything at this property was seamless. We communicated with the front desk via WhatsApp, and they were extremely prompt and courteous for any of our requests. We were able to order in breakfast and dine by our pool, schedule transport to see various sites around the island, reserve chairs at the Black Sand beach, book restaurants, wine tastings, and massages. It was like having a private concierge at your fingertips.

At the Black Sand beach, Bismarck and Rebecca were extremely hospitable and welcoming. We loved spending the day on the loungers, eating their delicious food and mocktails, and jumping into the crystal clear waters next to the impressive dark sand.

If you have the opportunity, we highly recommend you kick off your trip with a wine tasting hosted by the property’s somm and beverage director, Eleni. She has a wealth of knowledge, and got us extremely excited for all the wines we would explore further into our trip.

The hotel is a bit off the beaten path in a mountain village called Megalochori, which was actually ideal because there were less cruise ship crowds to navigate as we wandered the gorgeous cobblestone hilly village.

We would highly recommend Vedema, and we were so grateful for all the staff who made our stay so special!

We took the Aegean Suite and jt was beautiful - in fact, the entire hotel was really good - as far as service is concerned, i have not seen better service in any other hotel in Europe for a very long time — all the staff - whether it was the concierge, the reception staff, the cleaners, the people at the restaurant — all of them — professional, cordial, attentive - very good. The room I was initially assigned to had a bit of a smell because it was near a livestock farm, but fortunately they changed the room the next day. It is located in a small village, so a rental car is a must. It is a great value hotel and a great place to experience the old, quiet atmosphere of Santorini!
