Panselinos Hotel

The photos correspond to reality. Nice hotel away from the tourist trails right on the beach. Transfer to Molivos 4 times a day - 5 minutes to drive. If there are a lot of people, the minibus will make as many trips as necessary, but you will have to wait. I would like to note the helpfulness and diligence of the chauffeur (he is also the gardener) - a working man, in such a heat! Thank you for your service. Very nice greeting on arrival at the hotel. Alexandra was top notch - thank you for your attention to my wishes and such a luxurious welcome! You did an excellent job. Everything in the appartement is very simple but clean and pleasant. Wet cleaning was done every day. Thank you to the caring woman who cleaned apartment 279 from 8-16 June! You are very positive and do your job well. My best wishes to you. Kitchen utensils are minimal, but I asked for a kettle and a frying pan at reception and they gave me it. Generally, all the staff are very good at communicating, positive and knowledgeable. Thank you very much, guys! Buy greens and vegetables from the greengrocer in a makeshift stall right behind the hotel on the road (to the right of the hotel) - everything grows here, behind the fence. Very tasty. Cheap. Excellent clean big pool with sea water, beautiful territory around, but when I went to the pool there were no free sunbeds. Good that I did not need: I went to the sea. There is a minimarket, but in terms of food on it do not count on it. You can buy drinks, milk, ice cream, bread, bathing and sanitary accessories. All at a minimum. The tap water is ok for drinking, no flavour. Beautiful sunsets right from your poolside sun lounger. At the hotel the descent to the sea is steep, but 100 meters away you can go in. It's shallow and the water is very clear. I recommend to take bathing slippers - the pebbles are large. Molivos is beautiful and authentic. Immediately buy dry food for cats - there are a lot of them everywhere, they are part of the urban environment. You must go to the castle to watch the sunset. Do not go there in the daytime - it's hot, it's hard. There is 2 restaurants on the top, but you can just se sunset from the bench. There are no supermarkets, there are small 3-4 shops. Prices everywhere are nearly the same, high for Greeks. There is a pharmacy on the pedestrian walkway, prices are touristy. The best supermarket in terms of assortment is the one next to the pharmacy. And TK's supermarket - less goods there, but very sociable and pleasant owner Dimitros. He will cheer you up, tell you stories, give you tips. He feeds the cats that come in (nice man!) and you can buy cat food from him on clearance.

Everyone was really nice. The room was a bit small in my opinion for 5 people and one bed was wonky and uncomfortable. Pool was great and food (we had breakfast and dinner) were tasty and there was plenty to choose from. Overall experience was very positive. We borrowed a car and from this place had a good availability to different parts of the island. Also there is a beach really close.

My friend and I stayed here mid September. Lots of positives and a couple of negatives. First negative, on arrival at about 11pm, our room had a double bed rather than the two singles I had booked. The receptionist seemed quite put out about our request for this to be rectified and said she had waited for our arrival an hour past her shift, despite the fact we were on time. This did see to colour her attitude to us. The bed got converted into two singles the next day by the helpful cleaners after the older lady on reception told the receptionist it could be done. Anyway, had a lovely room which was one of the newly renovated ones. It was very clean and modern whilst the rest of the hotel still had that wonderful authentic Greek style. It is quite isolated though and the nearest decent beach is a 15 walk away (turn right as you leave) opposite a hotel complex and we used their beach sun beds for free and bought lunch and drinks. We used the hotel mini bus to go into Molyvos to use the beach there a few times, not great beaches (take your water shoes for most of the beaches) and we got a taxi to the beach at Anoxos and the little train back. Caught the 10.10 minibus to Molyvos and the 2.30 one back otherwise it’s 7.30 return which just doesn’t work. A taxi is 8 euro. We went into Molyvos for 6/7 evenings and had wonderful meals there at a different taverna every time. Molyvos is just wonderful, unspoilt, uncommercialised, Greece as you want it if you love Greece. We only ate one evening meal at the hotel and it was awful, poor communication about no rice left and then cold roast vegetables which were not actually roasted, was a stew with indistinguishable veggies. On telling the waiter the food was cold he commendably got it heated but it tasted awful. Another waitress asked how our meal was and so I told her, this prompted the chef to come out who said ‘no one died’. I wasn’t sure if this was his idea of humour, don’t think so, but his attitude was poor. Had a great Greek salad there one lunchtime and breakfast was ok, plentiful.

Rooms and service are one of the best…large sea water pool is an asset

Lovely hotel, with friendly helpful staff. Great pool with wonderful views, lovely view from our room balcony too. Really loved the food, and breakfast included in our package was plentiful and catered for everyone. Quiet place not surrounded by other hotels, great bus service from hotel to Molyvos the local town. Rooms are basic but cleaned daily. Mattresses very comfy. Will definately return.

We really liked the hotel. We woke up every morning with the sounds of birds. The hotel's garden was very nice, with palm trees and pomegranate trees.The rooms were very large and spacious. The room and linens were clean. Our room was cleaned regularly. Breakfast was adequate. Restaurant fees were reasonable. The free shuttle service to Molivos was very useful for us because we had not a car. Staff were friendly and helpful. We easily reached the hotel by taxi from Molivos center. We had to reach Molivos early in the morning on the day of return. The reception helped with us. If I come again, I would like to stay in this hotel again.

There was a bad smell coming from the toilet drain from time to time.

Rooms need to be renovated, rest of is very enjoyable

This is truly an amazing hotel, fantastic pool with seperated kids pool (both saltwater) we were there in August for 2 weeks never had trouble getting sunbeds. Overall a quiet place, very peaceful. Rooms are quite small and very basic,very comfy beds,and always plenty of hot water for showers/baths. Free aircon in rooms which was fab in August. not many utensils provided just a fridge, 2 ring hob, water pan and cooking pan, few plates, cups etc.. no way you can self cater, but with breakfast provided and nice food available at bar all day no need to cook. Great breakfast with good choices, lovely chilled bar area serving food/drink all day 10am to 2am (be aware, massive portion sizes 😂) and very reasonable prices. Cleaner comes in everyday, bedsheets/towels changed regularly. Pebble beaches within few minutes walk, most apartments had Seaviews. Mainly Dutch, German, Danish, greek guests not many from uk but everyone spoke English (to differing degrees) and we're lovely. Free hotel minibus into/back from molyvos 5 times a day. Local bus stops outside hotel €1.80 to go anywhere. Small shop on site selling essentials and icecreams etc.. Again same prices as shops in town.tourism tax was €1.50 per day. Would highly recommend this place if looking for a chilled out holiday with good food, great company and no sunbed wars 😂. we are already looking at dates for 2024.

A tad late with this review, sorry. We decided to sneak an extra week away after being home from our annual visit to Molyvos and thought “why not?’ Soma last minute booking we got the last 2 seats on the plane. Me half way down and the better half at the front! It was interesting to go at a different time than normal and put faces to many names of folk who comment on the Facebook groups. Last drop off by the coach but we were met and shown to our room by a very professional and polite young lady (alas, I can’t recall her name) a quick unpack and straight to the bar where the staff greeted us like old friends. Lovely. Talking of old friends it was hilarious to see people who assumed we’d left not to return until 2024! The pool is massive and we always got sun beds. Breakfast was worth getting up for. A minibus ran to the village each night - once as we were the only passengers the driver went and got his own car “faster and easier” Our room was great. Plenty of space and was cleaned every day. A few times we got back late to the hotel to find the bar still open…win, win! We’d highly recommend the Panselinos and wouldn’t hesitate in going back.
