Viva Mare Hotel & Spa

Recently stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very nice and can be improved further by refirbishing the rooms. However, the staff let this hotel down. Except for the young man at reception who was attentive and helpful, most of the other staff were not friendly at all. The restaurant in particulsr needs improvement, as there was never enough food at breakfast and the staff lack customer service skills. This hotel has a lot of potentisl but needs some work.

We had 2 rooms and it was all satisfactory. Breakfast was good when it was the weekend but it was lacking during the week.

It’s a good place to stay without paying so much. We were with four people and the sad thing was that we got a two person bed and then two couches that turned into bed and were definitely not comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom looked wonderful at first but when we turned on the bath brown water with chunks came out and only a couple seconds later clean water came. It definitely wasn’t checked. We used the bath the first day to relax from the flight and right when my friend was drying herself the ventilation system literally fell to the ground. We called the staff and they came to look. They said it would be made or we would be send to another room but they never really made it, they just set the fallen thing on the sink and left it. The days after a musky smell stayed in our bathroom and i think it either came from under the bath or the ventilation system.

The food was the first day pretty good and they try to do some different things every dinner and lunch. But a warning, if you’re vegetarian you might want to keep in mind that there was a lot of meat in everything. Other than that it was pretty good food, some of the chicken was not cooked all the way through so we left it to the side but the desserts were the best in my opinion.

If you’re looking for a quiet place to lay by the swimming pool this is a good place. They have a free bus that also goes to the small village nearby four times a day. Me and my friends all don’t have our driving license so we couldn’t rent a car but the village was only in a 25 minute walk and we took the bus a couple of times.

If you’re a teenager like us though, this is not the perfect place i think. Many of the other people there are around fifty or sixty and talked to us like we were some annoying disrespectful teenagers which really annoyed us. There is not much to do in the area and the taxi card we got from the hotel didn’t work. We found some good restaurants that were pretty cheap as well but there are definitely no bars or clubs if that’s what you’re looking for.
