Hotel Baia Imperiale

WOW, what a highlight of our 2-week trip through Italy & Switzerland. Going to Elba Island is one of the best decisions we've ever made, and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay than Hotel Baia Imperiale. The room was incredibly comfortable – we had a lovely deck that looked out over the ocean, lots of closet space (so many hangers!) and a big shower. It seemed like the room had been recently renovated.

Most of all, the staff was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we checked in, every experience with the staff was beyond amazing. The included breakfast is fantastic and we decided to have dinner in the dining room on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. This is a very service-first oriented place and they're at the top of their game. Pacos and Massimo were fantastic servers and the main manager (I feel bad we didn't get his name) was just fantastic – he takes his job very seriously and ensures his staff provide the best service possible. I can't say enough good things about the staff.

And of course, the BEACH. Beautiful, crystal clear waters. We rented two loungers and an umbrella for about 30 euros and it was worth every euro. We both wish we'd had one more day on Elba and at Hotel Baia Imperiale, but we'll just have to wait until next time!

The absolute best of this hotel is the location and the restaurant. The latter has an exceptional quality (I’d say the best restaurant we tried in the island) with fair prices and the service is very kind and meticulous. Rooms are quite the opposite: they are simple, not worth of a 4 stars hotel in my opinion, mattress and pillows are of tight quality, room decoration is basic, some bulbs were not even working and a window was semi-broken and rusty. Also room pictures in the website do not correspond to reality (as many other reviews say). We enjoyed a lot our stay but we are now in a 3* hotel sleeping way better than before.

Had a wonderful stay at Baia Imperiale. Nice room with Sea View, we opted for a Plus room which meant was relatively recently renovated. If I was being picky it was on the smaller side but no issues for us.

Breakfast selection and quality very good. We were half board and had 2 dinners and 2 lunches. Good selection each evening and something a bit different. Had previously seen reviews of people complaining about the food which I can't really understand.

Staff very helpful and accommodating. Restaurant / bar staff excellent.

Drove around a lot of the Island and feel very lucky we came across this hotel as seemed a level above many others.

Very nice hotel, probably located among the best gulfs on the island with one of the best beaches available.
The service is excellent, very friendly, nice and available for any request. The first day we had no hot water in the room but we were promptly told to be patient fifteen minutes which would fix the problem so it was.
The menu offered at breakfast is large and satisfying (I only included breakfast). The lunch and dinner menus are of excellent quality, although I would add a few more choices on appetizers and desserts.
The rooms are a chapter to improve: the windows of mine were old and noisy, it is impossible to open the window or go to the bathroom without waking the other person, the windows do not slide well and they rattle a lot in the hinges. Cleaning is not that great, we found some ants but above all a ton of dust under the bed. The price (I had booked in April) was in line with what was offered. I realized that two mistakes had been made in the bill about two dinners on the dishes ordered, therefore, after comparing with the staff, I was promptly refunded.
I hope the review is an inspiration for this beautiful property, in a top location and with excellent staff!

One of the greatest experience in Elba! Friendly staff, excellent quality of food! Very clean spaces and amazing view from any spot of the place!! Highly recommended!
