Hotel «Le Fontanelle»

We stayed here for a few days while in Tuscany, and I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The views and grounds are truly breathtaking, and I do not believe any photo you see does it justice. The rooms, staff, and food are all top-tier. This is the definition of luxury. I would say however long you plan to stay, add an extra day just to spend on the property relaxing. We truly regretted not staying longer and exploring the grounds more. I am used to 5* establishments on my travels, but this exceeded all expectations. I will be going back and recommending to anyone traveling in Tuscany.

Had a wonderful time at this amazing hotel. Beautiful scenery and kind and caring staff. The food menu was a bit limited to the needs of a tourist, but overall we had a wonderful experience with our stay.

We recently stayed here at the start of our honeymoon and the experience surpassed all our expectations! The hotel, team and location are amazing. From breakfast in the morning overlooking the hills of Tuscany, relaxing by the pool…again with a stunning view and dining at both hotels amazing restaurants (did I mention the views?!?) We couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off the honeymoon. Can’t wait to plan our next visit!

Hotel Le Fontanelle is both an exclusive complex and an estate with exceptional facilities.

The greater complex (I.e., Hotel Le Fontanelle and the Club House) has several restaurants, all of which are accessible via an efficient shuttle service. The food itself is exquisite, and the gluten-free fare is well above the standard of other hotels. The staff is attentive and always ready to help.

Also very interesting for wine lovers, as the hotel is located in the heart of the Chianti region, with its own wine production. A guided tour of the winery itself can be booked, and is interesting for wine amateurs and experts alike.

The location is 5* worthy however the hotel rooms, general service and food at the property are closer to a 4* US equivalent.

The check in process was easy although the checkout was convoluted with so much unnecessary paperwork. Felt like I was in the 1990’s.

The support staff (bellmen, drivers) were very helpful but we found the reception staff difficult to deal with and generally unhelpful.

Overall a pleasant experience, but not 5* worthy

"We had an absolutely amazing stay at Hotel Le Fontanelle! The warm hospitality and welcoming staff made our experience truly unforgettable.

The Hotel was beautiful. We had excellent weather and enjoyed the outdoor areas and pool area the most. Room was great. Breakfast was excellent each morning. Service was good too. My wife and I did Deep Tissue massages at the Health Club that were ok…probably wouldn’t do them again. Hotel is a 25 minute drive from Siena. We had a car and drove places from the hotel. Would recommend and stay here again!

Honestly the best part of our Italian honeymoon was here in Tuscany. Everything at Le Fontanelle is above and beyond from the million dollar views, to beautifully kept grounds across the estate including the pool, driving range, and putting green, to the superb food, to amazing wine and drinks. My wife and I did some activities arranged through the concierge including the exquisite wine and dine tasting at Vallepicciola, the cooking class at Le Pietre Vive, and the truffle hunt there as well. They took care of everything and recommend reaching out to the concierge ahead of your arrival to plan the perfect stay. The restaurants there are phenomenal and although we didn't get to eat at the Michelin Starred Il Visibilio the other two - La Colonna & Osteria Il Tuscanico - that we did go to are on par with other Michelin star restaurants we've been to. The service, friendliness, and attentiveness of the staff here is truly 5 stars. I could not recommend this place more so if you thinking about booking here just do it and you won't regret it. Gives White Lotus type vibes and definite 11/10.

Our stay at Hotel le Fontanelle was such a dream! The staff was incredibly helpful before and during our stay. Before our stay, I communicated with the hotel staff via email who assisted in setting up activities for us and making our stay extremely special. I recommend booking a private picnic on their estate and a wine tasting tour in their Vallepicciola winery. The private picnic was probably the highlight of our stay! What an amazing view of the Tuscan Hills!! The scenery all throughout the Estate feels unreal with gorgeous views. It is also a very peaceful environment and very quiet throughout the Estate. Great stay for a relaxing getaway. The only thing we were not fans of was the food in their La Colonna restaurant on site. We recommend having dinner at their Club House restaurant, Osteria il Tuscanico instead. Other than that, we absolutely loved our stay and would recommend staying here on your trip to Tuscany!
