Outstanding hotel in a beautiful setting! We stumbled on this hotel through American Express “Fine Hotels & Resorts” after having a poor experience at another “5-star” hotel in Tuscany. From the moment we walked in everything was impeccable. The rooftop pool is gorgeous, the food- phenomenal (especially the breakfast), service was outstanding, and the rooms are beautiful. Our only regret is we didn’t have more days to spend there.

We know that it is a great job but not in all hotels, no matter how many stars and categories they have, the workers are so friendly and attentive. My husband & I were coming to Italy for the 1st time and our travel agent recommended the Hotel Principe di Piemonte-I had honestly had never heard of Viareggio-but what a wonderful surprise! The hotel was superb in every way. The room was elegant & spotless-luxurious side sea view, including 2 balconies. Every amenity was available. The hotel is right across from a beautiful beach promenade, and they have bikes available to borrow to ride, which was a great treat. The rooftop pool and bar are top notch-though the drinks are good, they on the $$$ high side-The breakfast must be seen to be believed-everything I ate was delicious. The entire staff was professional and courteous, the Finnish lady (I have forgotten her name) who works at the pool was so helpful and friendly- The hotel is located about and hour and a half away from the Cinque Terre-we did a day trip there-I highly recommend it and the Hotel Principe di Piemonte! What a special place- I hope to return someday!

Everything about this hotel is top tier. The staff is so incredibly kind and the rooms are amazing. We are on our honeymoon and got upgraded to a suite without asking upon arrival. Also, the breakfast buffet is one of the nicest I have ever seen in any country. We stayed here for 4 nights and I will miss it dearly when going back to the states! Such a beautiful hotel in a beach town.

Stayed here for a week. Saying this place is a gem, is a true understatement. The hotel is absolutely great, and every detail is meticulously curated. The soaps, the towels, the linens, the watera, the valet service, the breakfast buffet, the elevators, the bulgari perfumes given in the bathrooms, the bath robes, the silk robes, the flip-flops, the bed time slippers, the coffee machine, the pool, the restaurants, and the list goes on. Literally everything is on point and of spectacular quality.

But while that is impressive, what makes this hotel an unforgettable experience, one that rivals the best establishments in the world, is the attention to detail of the staff. They are, in one word, exceptional. They cater to your every request and have an answer for every question. They are the best in the business and it shows.

Last - the sunsets are to die for. 100% will come back again.

Spa is not really tempting

The rooms were a little dated and needed some redecoration but this had a certain charm and added to the ambience. Beds very comfortable. Bathroom was good. Room service good. The reception staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help with information and transport arrangements.
The restaurant itself was excellent and an abundant quantity of food . The quality of the breakfasts - abundant fresh fruit, cold meats, bacon, eggs, croissants, fabulous breads was exceptional. Evening meals were a little hit and miss sometimes very, very good but once or twice a little just ok.
The pool was clean and cool. Parasol and lounges. Nice little cafe with snacks.
Just across a small not very busy road was the beach and a good cafe.
There are plenty of shops down the approximately 20 minute walk to the town ranging from quite high end to newsagents and pharmacies.
The hotel is literally just across a not very busy road to the beach with a good beach cafe.
Walking away from town were some streetside bars. About a 5 minute walk away the restaurant had live music which was brilliant. Food good too. Wish I could remember the name of the bar as spent two very happy evenings there.
Bus stop just outside and station nearby. Easy and cheap to get to Florence, Pisa , and Luca. Despite crowds all very much worth seeing.
