Pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The room was very big (albeit a bit outdated), ACs worked well, large balcony, water dispenser in reception to fill bottles, very large selection of food during the breakfast. What’s more, the hotel gave me gluten free goodies during the breakfast which were sealed to reduce risk of contamination. Staff were nice and even gave my son a colouring book.
The property is conveniently located, easy walking distance to areas of interest. Its about a 30 min walk to the train station. Room is clean and light, staff are really helpful.
Good location for getting a feel of the city during what was a very brief visit. Room was spacious and staff were friendly.
situated in a quiet residential area but at a convenient distance from the lively shopping street called VIA ATNEA and then on to the grand basilica Cathedral di santa agata.the rooms are with all the facilities and the bathroom is also spacious and clean.the reception staff is polite and friendly.
Worst breakfast choices ever but great and clean room. Clean lounge to chill and relax in complete with a few charging power bars. The paintings on the walls have real human nudity so perhaps it isn’t the best choice for kids. You can ask the hotel to take down the nudes before you arrive if needed. You can see parts of the photo in my photo on the right
Really lovely staff. Excellent breakfast. Good bathroom. Valet parking . Good location. We didn’t particularly like Catania itself, but if you come here then this is a really nice hotel to stay at. The rooms are standard hotel rooms but spacious bathroom with an excellent bathtub.

It was a basic room with a bed that moved with every movement of my partner. The public toilet was in bad shape, no seat and flush mechanism was hard to interpret. The chairs and sofa in the common area were broken down. The only good thing was the location which was near the city center of Catania.
Easy check in, comfortable bed, simple pleasant breakfast. Lovely view from room of the street and mt etna
staff was accommodating to our late arrival time from the airport. Also explained with details the premises and places around, ie: pizzeria. The breakfast was delicious and plenty I would recommend them. Thanks Alexandre and family
The location is superb. Accessibility is excellent, no matter where you go. Facilities are mediocre. For those who go out in the morning and come back late at night, it is excellent in terms of cost performance.
The room was old but that also had a lot of charm. If you like this, it is highly recommended, nice authentic old Italian impression. The facilities were good but the breakfast was meager. I would only grab it if it only costs a few euros, otherwise you better eat something in the morning. The location is good and also close to a metro.
Very old and dilapidated building. Not at all like the photos. we had arrived at night and it was spooky. The elevator was outside the building and there was a garbage bag in front of it. It smelled very unpleasant and sweet. Everywhere brittle and run down. The man from the front desk was very nice. We left and after a long back and forth trip.com luckily refunded the money. We would have preferred...

Good location and cleanliness were the strengths of this hotel. You can also use private parking available 24 hours a day for 18 euros per day. However, my room was room 103, and the bedroom was close to the street, so I couldn't sleep because of the noise of cars, so I slept on the sofa bed in the living room... The customers at the hotel bar were noisy until past midnight, so I couldn't sleep even...
It’s located in a bit hidden area but with beautiful atmosphere. Facilities are bit old but this unique & nice building has 18 equipped spacious flats with common garden area.
I booked the last room available the day before, lucky me it was the top flat! Central location, service was friendly and the flat well serviced (iron, board, kitchen set, etc). Only negative note, the Wi-Fi didn’t work and the night I spent there, a live singing was happening below on the street.
Made to feel very welcome even when arriving very late. Accommodation was fantastic and in a great location - highly recommend.
Excellent and quiet location. Large rooms with separate kitchen facilities. Comfortable beds. Close to the center and major sites.
Three must be also the stars of this hotel!!The room had not normal windows, and the breakfast was in a cafe near ( Sunday was closed ) !Place was ok very close to the city and the staff was great!

The staff was very helpfull and nice! The recomended some nice resturants, cafés and sights which was very helpfull and nice for us.
Great service and very friendly staff.
Very nice stay! The hotel is absolutely beautiful! We had an amazing room, extremely nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is very very nice. The team is helpful and gave us good recommendations, including some not touristic & authentic restaurants / bars. Thank you!
Lovely little hotel with a refined and artistic 1900’s interior. We had the standard double room that had an amazing ceiling with wonderful sculpting. Other lovely details were the antique oak/maple furniture and beautiful double drapes. Staff was absolutely friendly and helpful. We did have a feeling that they were a bit understaffed during breakfast hours though. But this didn’t spoil it at all.
Hands down the best experience you can have in Catania. From the interior design of the rooms to the pleasant staff and the overall feel of the hotel, everything was top notch. Highly recommend!
The Liberty Hotel is an excelent charming Hotel close to the center of Catania. The staff is extraordinary nice and helpful. We always got a very good breakfast and we even could book a tour to Etna in the Hotel. We also got provided with a lot of information about the sights and restaurants in the city.

For a weekend/short break, this hotel is ideal. It is basic and quiet. However, the room has that 'wow' factor - four poster bed and high ceilings decorated by plaster muriels. The bathroom was basic, but functional. If I were to visit again, am pretty sure I would stay here again.
Wonderful friendly staff, convenient location, quality but basic rooms. Beautiful artwork. The only con is the unexpected €15 charge for the sauna and Jacuzzi, which wasn't explained before hand. The hotel shouldn't advertise the pool and sauna as they aren't free and aren't good quality or what youd expect. Other than that a beautiful hotel, amazingly friendly and importantly bilingual staff 😁 overall...
Great hotel, great service as well. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The hotel has a paid parking, a rooftop solarium with a jacuzzi, great breakfast and the location is very central. Pretty much everything is in walking distance. Would recommend and would visit it again.
Exceptional central location,in the middle of all the the places to visit. Wonderful rooftop with a 360° view on the historical centre. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms with roman decoration. The rooms facing the street side are noisy due to the traffic, but overall a good staying spot to visit the city.
Good location. Nice modern rooms but small. Reliable Wi-Fi. Great views of Mt. Etna from the roof terrace.

breakfast in the room, super pampered, clean room. safe and friendly place🏅💝😋
Rooms quite small, Bathroom and Shower too small. Our room was smelling like smoke, Beds were ok. AC ok, Breakfast was Italian, Staff very friendly.
Unbeatable pricing and waterfront. Super friendly staff will attend to your every need. Car rental (specify automatic first, if needed), tour and taxi service (specify Visa card first or you'll need euros), can all be arranged thru the front desk. Outstanding restaurant is right next door (+ 24 hour bar 2 minutes away). Fresh, free buffet breakfast with free espresso upon request
Pleasantly pleased. Ideal location away from Catania overlooking a fishing harbour and a short walk to train station. You can't buy a ticket there and it is worrying as you have to 'validate ' your ticket before you get on the train!. But friendly ticket inspector lets you pay on the train! I travel alone so the welcome i get is very important. This i received along with a smart room.
Bit dated, friendly staff, had a room with a view of the volcano, a long way off. Easy to find, off street parking.
Well this is my first time traveling abroad and I didn't know what to expect for a first-time time traveler. But we checked into this establishment, one of the bigger hotels that they have in the area. The rooms are little small, they are outdated but all in all it was a good stay. Breakfast was great!

We stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time! Trully, one of the best located hotels in Catania, within walking reach of every sight in the city and the centre,a bus stop right next to the hotel and amazing service. The hotel is clean, neat and you feel like you're at home.Would definately revisit!
The place is very nice! The boss was an older gentleman of the old school, very cool. Also the location is great its basically directly on the Via Etnea the most important street of catania :)
Great location, friendly staff, big and quite prooms with space, very clean and breakfast ok. Highly recommended for a trip in Catania
Stay here for 6 nights. A charming old hotel. Very little English speaking staff, but for me that added to it's charm. I had a huge room, balcony and marble bath. Staff did make my stay into a holiday and smiling and happy whenever I saw them. A simple continental style breakfast with good espresso. Would definitely stay here again. A 3* hotel with 4* service. A big thank you for everyone there.

Nice and helpful receptionists, cozy feeling in the room with adequate sunshine! The male receptionist recommended us a restaurant nearby for risotto, it’s Mamma Mia!!!!!!
We arrived very early before check-in after an overnight flight. Paula was so kind and let us have our room early. She insisted on carrying my suitcase up the stairs although I am capable. The bed & room was comfortable. Breakfast was included and wonderful. I am hoping to stay here again!
Beautiful hotel. Close to the Catania airport. The traffic getting there was a little hectic but once we arrived, we were welcome by friendly staff and a great stay.
It is a 12 minute drive to airport and 10 minute walk to the main square. Great location. It had everything we needed, especially air conditioning!. There is also parking available too. Hotel staff was very helpful.

Stay Details. I visited Catania during the last days of September with my husband, and spent two nights in the hotel. I understand that during this time, it is not a high season, but I must say that I saw several turists in the city and the weather was quite good (sunny, but not so hot). Location. The hotel is located in Via Etnea, a wide street, full of shops and tourists. It is not exactly in the...
After 9 nights in a villa in Palermo, we booked one night here before our morning flight home. The rooms were a little larger than you might expect with all the standard provisions. Thge reception staff were very nice and welcoming. The location is good - turn righ out of the hotel and you soon hit the main drag in Catania with all the shops, bars, restaurants and little off-shots you need. Overall...
The San Max Hotel was a perfect place to stay for our last night in Sicily before flying home. Staff were great in getting us a taxi booked for early in the morning and letting us know about the hotel. The room was fine and even a lot bigger than we needed. The requested second bed was set-up and waiting. It is not high luxury but it was clean and in a very central location.
The hotel itself was nice, but the breakfast is a disaster. No hot meals, only pastries and the selection of drinks was very poor. Lux loung bar no bueno. Cleaning was good, klima was good.

I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of September. It was a very pleasant stay. The staff were all very pleasant and spoke English. The hotel is situated on a side street off the Via Liberta. Cute comfortable hotel not far from the station with very pleasant friendly helpful receptionist and staff. We are happy that we booked our stay here, its value for money. They arranged fir us to have an early breakfast before our very early morning departure.
Very nice place not far from the central station. Clean hotel and room, very good breakfast and friendly people. Would recommend it for one or two nights for sure to visit the city. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to most attractions. Price-quality is ok.
Excellent location - short 5 minute walk from the central train station in Catania. Quirky decor. Large clean room and excellent bathroom. Excellent breakfast and lovely helpful staff. Great value for money. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Only okay. Very convenient for the train station which is why we booked it but it is in quite a dirty side street and about 20 min to the city centre. Breakfast was pretty disappointing in that no toaster, no cold milk for cereal (yes, I got it when asked for it) but the overall selection was poor. The rooms are on a split level which I was ignorant about and I just didn't like that; felt unsafe in...
We stayed in Catania for one night as part of a very quick trip to Sicily and the city really did nothing for me, but this hotel was great and the star of our stay. Since I appreciate old buildings that have been renovated to very high standard whilst not ruining the actual character of the building Dimora Minima gets 200 % from me. This is a 3-star hotel, and it matches that classification. The location is truly excellent – it couldn’t be better. I like quirky, bijou hotels. This one was perfect. It isn't hard to find on Google Maps, but it does hide behind a big, (to some perhaps uninviting) street door where you buzz for access.
