Hotel Benaco

Hotel is lovely,
pool area brilliant. Teenage daughter loved sunbathing while we could mess about with the smaller one in the water.
I have added a few pictures for the gym/fitness centre. Many because we could not find any. It is really good for standard weight workout and has a separate room for whole body work out. But no real cardio machines. So plan your workout around that. Lovely running routes around.
Service is excellent and prices are reasonable for drinks and food by the pool.
Walk into town is about 10min downhill (way back a bit longer as it is uphill).
We arrived on the train and walk was super straight forward.

A nice hotel that is in the ideal location, situated close to the train station and only a 10min walk to the waters edge. Rooms are of an acceptable standard but are a little tired however they are cleaned well each day. Breakfast was great and offered something for everyone. The hotel exterior could do with freshening up. We had a dirty balcony in room 106 which we didn't use. The main gate to the hotel is falling apart and doesn't give a great first impression, an attempt to fix it was made before it broke the following day. A lady working on the bar was sat around texting on her phone while there were certainly some tidying up that could have been done (hoovering up the many dead flies up in the window sills of the seating area etc). The female receptionist was fantastic. I didn't catch her name but credit to her, she managed to sort us a restaurant booking and was generally very nice to talk to.
For the price paid and the location this well worth the stay but a few areas that could be improved to make it an excellent place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned and towels changed everyday. Breakfast was good, with fresh honey in a honeycomb. Location is not too far from the station and a 10 minute walk to the centre. There's a slight incline back to the hotel but it's not too steep. We used the swimming pool and it wasn't too busy, but might get a bit overcrowded in the school holidays.

Gorgeous hotel, very central. It was exactly what we were looking for. Booked it last minute and arrived about an hour later. The room is was spotless and the staff were so kind and great to chat to. Big thank you especially to the man in the reception when we arrived (I never caught his name) for being so welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Very clean,modern hotel, rooms are very nice, good mattress, nice bathroom. Great service even late into the night. Location is okay, very close to the train station but still a good walk to the lake and city life.

This is such a lovely hotel. A short walk from the train station and into town. The rooms are clean and modern, and the pool area is lovely and well-kept. Very good service, we were able to order drinks and snacks by the pool. The staff were all so helpful and kind, even organizing our rental car for us. I will be staying here again if I return to Garda. Thank you!

Fabulous hotel. Great location and helpful staff. Lovely, clean pool area at the front. Close enough to the train station to walk, but far away that there's no noise. 10 minute walk from geat restaurants in Desenzano.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful location with stunning views of the lake and mountains depending on the room location. My room was a 3rd floor and had 180 degree views of Lake Garda. Great buffet breakfast included. Free parking and within 5 minute walk to the train station. Highly recommend La Locanda for dinner and Honest Cannabis to help with jet lag. Extremely friendly staff and community. Definitely be back to this spot!

OK place for the couple of nights. Soundproofing almost non existing, so you don't want to be woken every night by someone flushing the toilet in a neighbouring room. Breakfast is better than typical Italian - eggs, hotel-style scramble, cold cuts and bacon, some cheese, croissants, fruits. Not a trace of any veggies at all 😉
Too cold for the pool, but it's open till the end of October.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful!
The 3 stars are definitely earned. In my opinion they are 4 stars. It is very close to the train station and city center. Although it is so well located, it is still in a calm street.

The hotel just got renovated and the rooms are super pretty.

The pool is very nice (pictures on Booking.com aren’t up to date) but a bit cold - although it is almost 30 degrees all day

Breakfast is very nice arranged especially with Covid. A young man assist and he speaks multiple languages!
