Ibis Styles Bari Giovinazzo

We stayed here for 1 night after landing at Bari airport to sleep, and make our way to our accommodation further south the next morning. The hotel is easy to find and is a simple and short drive from Bari airport, and has a sizeable car park.

Firstly I must say, all the staff throughout the hotel, from the reception to the restaurant, were extremely friendly and helpful and were lovely people. At reception, they spoke very good English, which was helpful as we can only speak very basic Italian.

The restaurant was good, the food was a very good standard for a hotel restaurant and we were very pleased. The friendly waiters understood us in English and our broken Italian.

Sadly the rest of the hotel and the bedrooms leave much to be desired, technically there is air conditioning in the rooms, but it is so so bad. You can not feel any cold air even on the lowest temperature with the fans turned to the highest level, which in the end of July makes the room very hot and stuffy to sleep in. There is also some noise from the passing freight trains, although this did not disturb our sleep, perhaps because our room was at the front of the hotel.

The bed was not very comfy and there were not enough spare pillows in the wardrobe, so this with the warm temperature did not make for a comfortable sleep.

We did have a nice view of the sea from our balcony.

We did not use the swimming pool, but it did look very clean and the area around it did look very nice.

Overall, the hotel did what we needed it to do, a bed for the night before moving on in the morning, but another night here would have been awful, so it is OK for one night only. The hotel is very different to the usual standard you expect from an ibis Styles across Europe, so don't expect much.

The rooms state soundproof- a train passes every 10 minutes and you can hear it each time, the carpet is disgusting clearly not been cleaned ever!
No free toiletries no free water

DO NOT GO HERE!!!
The room we got was dirty, the carpet black, the curtains broken, the walls extremely dirty, not to mention the bathroom.
It’s bad location, train rails are 10meters from the room. Never ever again.
