I wanted to share a story I had in this hotel. It is a pretty distressing story actually. It started like this: I checked into my room and it was very very hot. I asked the front desk to turn on the air conditioner and they told me that there is a law in this area not to put on air conditioning from October to may. I was really disappointed so they told me they can offer me fans and I said it's fine I will open the windows. The following early morning I woke up in horror. A stranger is facing me. I tried orienting myself and started yelling. I asked him what are you doing here?! Who are you?! so he told me that he is the manager and he is checking if everything is ok. I didn't really believe him and anyways told him that even if he is the manager what are you doing in here?? so he left. I was terrified and couldn't fall back a sleep. I also couldn't figure out how he came into my room. A few minutes later I saw someone by my window. I wasn't sure it was the same person because it was dark but at this point I got furious. Where am I sleeping? What's going on? Am I safe here? I asked him why are you here? so he told me that he is the manager and there is a gas leak in the hotel and everyone needs to leave. At this point I realized that it's the same person so I just shut the window. But I did get very confused so I went out of my room and asked other ppl if there was a gas leak and they said yes. So by now I really got overwhelmed. I was so tired and I didn't know what to do. Do I need to leave the hotel or is this just a thief? I was too tired so I decided I'm not leaving the hotel. I will just leave the window open so there is no carbon monoxide. Later we went to check out. We were in a big rush but I was still under shock and I started sharing the story to the front desk. To my disbelief they said that I took in this stranger and I helped him with theft. And now they asked me to pay 150 euro, if not they will call the police on me!!!!!
I was in a big rush to catch my flight and had no choice but to pay the money.
Words are extra to explain this UNBLIEVABLE HORRIBLE SITUATION.
I tried wrapping up my brain why talking to him by the window is helping him in theft. I SPOKE to him because he was BY MY WINDOW after shocking me in MY ROOM in middle of MY SLEEP and he is persuading me that there is a gas leak and I need to leave. Again I'm trying to wrap up my brain to get a clue why they came to such a conclusion. I was SHOCKED, SCARED, DISTURBED in the early morning AND I HAD TO PAY A PRICE FOR THE CARELESSNESS OF THIS HOTEL. (And as you can see that they added in the google reviews that I also hugged him and that is obviously a lie.)
I sent this letter to the hotel personally I did not want to write a bad review and I believed that after explaining the situation they will compensate me. But instead they kept on saying that I helped in theft and also they said that i took in another person in the room which i didnt know its the Italian law and I paid for him.
I think this letter speaks for itself. So if you don’t want to find yourself in middle of the night with a stranger in your room and the hotel should blame you for it, THEN STAY AWAY.
So before considering this hotel make sure you got enough time after checking out to call police and to make a police report. Otherwise they may rip you off.
The staff is super friendly. A lady came everyday to clean the room and the guy at the reception was super helpful. He explained to us everything we needed regarding public transport, transfer to the airport, restaurants, shops, tickets and many other things.
You have the train station and bus station really close. Also, you have groceries and restaurant around.
So there is absolutely nothing to complain about.
Overall: enjoyed my stay for the proximity and the staff were very nice and helping. Room are clean but there’s nothing in the room (glass/kleenex) + shower put water everywhere on floor.
I would come back!
The only minor niggle we had was the location, it was perfect for being close to everything we needed including places to eat and the train station, but at night there are a lot of dodgy people hanging around the backstreets near the hotel. We had people dealing drugs right outside our building (one of which tried to sell to myself) along with people clearly on drugs wandering around the area. It wasn't a huge deal for us, but for vulnerable people and children it isn't ideal.
Other that that small detail we loved our stay here. Thank you!
