This is a great location in the main Cinque Terre village of Monterosso. Beach is two steps away and loved having breakfast looking out to sea. We dearly recomend to book a room with seaview and balcony. The room was ok in size and had a classic italien style. The bathroom was small. The aircondition, which was good to have in an italien summer, worked well. As an alternative we sometimes left the balconydoor open and enjoyed the crashing of the waves on the beach. We had a great stay at hotel Baia. We were able to get discounted beach chairs/umbrellas through the hotel for our stay and enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the mornings. Not as far from the railway station as I thought. A leisurely 10-15 mins walk away on smooth roads/paths. Excellent breakfast with a good selection of cold cuts, fruit, cereals as well as bacon and scrambled and hard boiled eggs. Our room was large and clean. The hotel is located on the mountain between the four and five villages of Cinque Terre and is a relay station for local hikers. The hotel is a renovation of the original monastery dormitory. We came here to do a cooking class that we booked a few weeks ago. We had a really good time and learned to cook some pretty simple Italian dishes.
