DO NOT STAY HERE. Like all the other guests, we had a bad experience at the hotel mainly due to the hotel owner’s rude and nasty attitude. The hotels in the area, especially those along the beach, have a 98% occupancy rate because of their location so they don’t care and will tell you “get out and find another hotel”. The hotel allows only disabled person and luggages in the elevator. The lady owner refuses to let my sister, who has mobility issues and is on a scooter, get on the elevator even if she has a Disabled Card. She also told an Australian solo traveler guest who was asking help with her 20 kilo luggage and carry on to the 2nd floor “no, you have two legs”, “go find another hotel”. If you are assigned a room on the 3rd floor, you will have to endure 70 steps of concrete stairs. Any encounter for help or favor, no matter how polite you say or ask, will end up in a nasty exchange.

This is a great location in the main Cinque Terre village of Monterosso. Beach is two steps away and loved having breakfast looking out to sea. Train station minutes away and beautiful views , walks and restaurants all around. Hotel staff were really helpful with any request or help that was needed. Great air con!

We dearly recomend to book a room with seaview and balcony. The room was ok in size and had a classic italien style. The bathroom was small. The aircondition, which was good to have in an italien summer, worked well. As an alternative we sometimes left the balconydoor open and enjoyed the crashing of the waves on the beach. Most of the staffmembers could use a hospitality crash course. Smiling or just being friendly was not their thing.

We had a great stay at hotel Baia. We were able to get discounted beach chairs/umbrellas through the hotel for our stay and enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the mornings. The hotel is right in front of the beach and steps away from the train station. The room was cleaned well daily and was all we needed. The staff were nice and friendly. We would stay here again!

We booked a balcony room With ocean view and it was awesome. Fun watching people go by along the street. Good breakfast. The owner lady was a bit rude to us. Saw past her and enjoyed our stay. Nice room. The view and location to train station was perfect. Would recommend.

The hotel owner is very rude and unprofessional. She went ballistic as we asked for the a/c to be set to our comfort. Yelling expletives against our country and religion. It was unbelievable!! But then you can't argue with a drunk. Watch out for her!

Good location, scary staff...
Great location for a hotel next to the sea, but be careful what you wish for from some of the staff..
We asked for extra sheets for our bed, not a chance. They were literally annoyed when I asked. Come breakfast and the staff there. -The scary part after staying there 3 nights was asking the girl moving tables or anything extra.. Not a chance and no other explanation than a NO...
Having said that, not all staff were rude, but the family owning this charming house were not very nice..

Old school, authentic Italian hotel with its own charm. Really close to their private beach and the rail station (which everyone uses to access the Cinque Terre towns and the intercity train network. So it’s really convenient. Rooms are spotless and linens and towels are to a high standard. Reception is friendly and efficient. Try to speak some Italian as a courtesy to the team! We had an issue with a very noisy neighbour (floor 2) and were allocated a new room on floor 3 with a balcony overlooking the sea for a small extra charge. Near the hotel are some lovely casual restaurants and bars. Monterosso centre is a short 10 min walk along the sea front and under the tunnel. Fine dining is available in the 2 restaurants just above the tunnel on the cliff edge. Book well ahead if you want to guarantee a table. The centre is busy with tourists on walking tours but there are enough bars and restaurants to go around. The hotel provides a quiet and serene break from the busy walking routes. There are no baths in the hotel rooms we used. Toiletries are minimal. The hairdryer is in the bathroom. If this doesn’t suit you then I suggest you bring your own. No robes or slippers. The staff were very helpful though and provided a corkscrew and glasses we needed in our room. Sitting on the balcony was lovely. We had rainy weather so it was great to catch some rays when they peeped out from the clouds. Breakfast is cold continental with hams, cheeses, cereals, yogurts, breads, jams, boiled eggs and fruit. Coffees and teas of various types were available. You could also take a mug away with you to your room. All of which was more than fine for us. This isn’t the Ritz and is priced accordingly. I don’t recognise some of the criticisms raised in other reviews. Great stay but mixed weather in April so set your expectations.

Great ocean front room. Great location. The hotel could use some updating, but overall enjoyed staying there for four nights.
