Hotel Abi d'Oru

We stayed here at the end of tourist season which was nice because the resort and beaches were not crowded by any means.
Pros: Excellent location with great beach, pool, tennis courts, and other amenities. We were given an upgraded sea view room which was very spacious. Service was exceptional.
Cons: Prices are out of control. A basic beer will run €12-15, (forget about a mixed drink, an espresso martini is €35!!!) and a personal pizza at the restaurant starts around €28. Given the quality of the food (as other reviews said) I would not recommend eating onsite as it will cost a large fortune. If the resort would lower their prices 30% I would give it 5/5 stars and recommend anyone to visit.

Our stay at Hotel Abi Doru in Sardinia was nothing short of exceptional. They created wonderful moments of pure joy and fun for the kids, making their stay truly memorable.Restaurant Team: The restaurant staff deserves high praise, particularly Stefano (I hope I got the name right) at the Tzia Maria restaurant, for their courtesy and professionalism. The chefs at all the restaurants, especially those preparing breakfast, provided divine meals. Each dining experience was delightful, with meticulous attention to detail that made every meal special.Housekeeping: The housekeeping team was outstanding, ensuring every detail was perfect and making us feel right at home. The rooms were always immaculate, and their efforts greatly enhanced our comfort and enjoyment.Overall, our experience at Hotel Abi Doru was flawless. We were pampered every step of the way, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. For renovated rooms you have to pay for deluxe room and above (suite etc).

Beach is nice, but don’t expect photos to be reality. There is a lot of people and sunbeds are close to each other. Also you have to pay for first row a 100€ day, 2nd is 70€ and so on. (5th and next are free) EVEN when you stay at the hotel. I never experienced anything like this.

Also like others said, the food & beverages are really expensive. Food is delicious though.

Staff (especially housekeepers) is super sweet.

Gym is bellow average. Actually the worst gym I’ve seen in 5*hotel. It open at 8 am, so when you wanna go workout before kids gonna woke up it’s impossible. No A/C, just a fan.

SPA is total disaster. Worst massage ever. Go get massage on the beach for 50€ and you get 100% better experience. In hotel there is no massage, they basically just put some oil on you and smear your back. Masseuse doesn’t speak English. Price 130€ for nothing.

Anyway it is a beautiful hotel (renovated part) with kids pool and outside playground. There is definitely space for improvement but if you don’t have to count every euro, and you are ok what what you get for you money, go for it.

Beautiful property. We stayed in an upgraded (and renovated) sea view room and it was very clean and enjoyable. The beach is beautiful and overall this is a very relaxing and enjoyable resort. The service everywhere was also top notch.

We chose transportation through the resort and were pleasantly surprised to be picked up in a new S-Class Mercedes, a very nice perk given it was only a couple euros more than a regular taxi.

My only critique is the restaurants at the property are slightly underwhelming, especially given the price point. Overall I would recommend this resort.

Outstanding service from Laura for provided amazing assistance with my marriage purposal of which she did an excellent job! Thank you! Newly renovated room was lovely clean and spacious. Grounds are beautiful kids play area and pool great very peaceful and beach very nice. Only critic as want to give a honest review is the food and restaurants are very lacking not much variety at all and over priced. Upside is porto rotondo is 5 mins away and they have many lovely restaurants to dine at!

The staff here are absolutely delightful and it makes all the difference. The food and drinks are good, however they are not worth the price — it is eye watering. We’re talking ~30 euro in some cases for a single drink.

Note: the beds on the beach are assigned based on how expensive your room is. So those who purchased superior rooms are in the front row on the water and those who bought the least expensive room will be in the 4th or 5th row back off the beach.

PROS - Amazing beach, very good rooms and maintenance of rooms, very helpful front desk, breakfast has a great choice and really good.
CONS - Off season has very limited options. The hotel restaurant is very over priced and quality is mediocre. We had hoped for pizzas... but the one guy who can make pizza had gone home for the winter. So no pizzas 😅
We would come back, just not on off season.

To say that the staff here have been excellent feels like an understatement. They have been welcoming, warm and genuine from the moment we entered the lobby. We heard from the staff that the owner of this hotel treats the staff very well, and that is reflected in the positive mood around the resort. Mr Gatti, the general manager, is a charming and thoughtful person who we met while leaving the resort, and Maria from guest relations epitomizes the helpfulness and warmth of the staff at this hotel. The room that we stayed in was exceptional, it was beautifully decorated, clean, spacious, with a large balcony and a wonderful view over the sea. The WiFi was excellent even from the beach, I had lots of ininterrupted video calls on WhatsApp during my stay. The food was out of this World, with a selection of two restaurants, kids’ menus, with outdoor seating, and a beautiful view of the sea. The swimming pool was lit with stars in the evening which was beautiful. The hotel’s private beach is just amazing! A long white sandy beach with loungers reserved for each room, parasols and towels available on demand. Beautiful crystal clear shallow waters. There is also a heated outdoor pool with several little sections with bubble jets. Then there is the Happy Bee club for kids, with a great playground and splash park, and lovely staff to oversee the activities they put on every day throughout the day; Ivana and Nicola interacted so beautifully with our son. There is a lovely lady Laura from the shop in the hotel who we stopped by to see each day, and she gave our son lots of high fives and spoke with him in Italian, showed him around her shop, and again interacted with him in such a warm and genuine way. I think the only negative thing about the whole experience was having to leave! Thank you hotel Abi D'Oru, it has been a wonderful stay for all of us, but in particular for our son. We will be back.

View of a very nice 5 star hotel. The staff are very attentive and you are pampered around the clock. The view of the sea from the room was fantastic. Crystal clear water.
