Hotel Everest Inn

We stayed here for 4 nights and paid €40 in city tax for the couple. The hotel is located in a building that also houses offices and even other hotels. Reception is on the third floor. The elevator is very small and feels more like a service lift — I was a bit hesitant to use it, so most of the time I preferred to take the long stairs.

They offer free coffee and croissants every morning, which were very good. Reception service was friendly. During the first two days, the Wi-Fi wasn’t working, but after speaking with a staff member, they replaced the router and the connection worked fine.

The room looks spacious but actually feels tight. There’s a minibar with two bottles of water inside, costing €1.50 each, but we mainly used it to chill the water we bought at the supermarket just 5 minutes away. The bed isn’t very comfortable, the pillow is flat, and while the air conditioning works, it’s noisy. You can also hear conversations from the neighboring rooms. Still, the room was clean and had no musty smell, even though the hotel itself is old.

The bathroom drain was clogged, but there was enough space on the side to shower without standing in water. We didn’t complain, since we don’t like to be “fussy” guests. Bring flip-flops and be careful stepping out of the shower, as there’s a small step. The hot water wasn’t working during the first days, but since Rome was very hot during our stay, it wasn’t a big issue.

Housekeeping came daily, making the bed and changing the towels. If you don’t speak English or Italian, don’t worry — one of the staff members speaks Spanish, and if you speak Portuguese you can even try some “Portunhol,” which they understood. Locking the room can be a bit tricky, as the door mechanism is different from what we’re used to.

Overall, it was a good stay. There are bus stops nearby, the location is convenient, and many tourist attractions can be reached on foot in about 20–30 minutes. Termini train station is about a 20-minute walk, and we felt safe walking there, even very early in the morning — the streets were lit and there were police around. The avenue is lively, with lots of shops and places to grab a gelato. A nice spot to enjoy Rome!

This is a small hotel located in an old building that also includes some other hotels and offices. The location is great, with many sights within walking distance and easy transport access. There are also many shops and restaurants nearby. The staff are friendly and helpful, room size is good (we had the quad room), and the included simple Italian breakfast was nice. The lift is old and terrifying. The hotel is on the 3rd floor, so there’s a choose between climbing a lot of stairs repeatedly or fearing being stuck in an ancient elevator. Aircon simply could not get cool enough for Rome in June (and apparently it gets hotter in July and August). Thus, the room does not provide the escape from the heat that one would hope for after sight-seeing. I’d recommend this hotel for visitors to Rome outside of the summer months. Maintenance is needed. The hotel hot water broke down once during our 5-night stay, the small fridge in the room was old and unreliable, and I suspect the aircon required cleaning.

The location is perfect, very close and walk distance to most of the historical places. The hotel is very comfy and clean. Breakfast is included so I enjoyed their cornetto with chocolate! The staff helps you for your needs, they are neither too friendly nor too distant which I found quite pleasant. 10/10

Great accommodation experience. Although the soundproofing is not very good, it does not affect me. The location is excellent, the environment is clean, the lighting is sufficient, and the lighting is good. Croissants and coffee are provided in the morning...

Great location for our Rome stay! Walked everywhere. Very happy with the space. Will definitely recommend.
