Grand Hotel La Pace

We had a lovely ten days at Grand Hotel La Pace and didn't want to leave. The warm welcome we received on entering the hotel carried on throughout the hotel: the staff were so friendly, happy to help and courteous. The hotel is impeccably clean, with lots of areas to sit and relax both inside and out. We enjoyed the food in the hotel: it is plentiful and varied with something for everyone. Although there is no daytime entertainment, there is something on most nights for a few hours. We visited "the restaurant on the hill" (ask at reception on arrival) one evening and had an amazing time, the highlight of our holiday. The shuttle bus into Sorrento was a big plus and very efficient, almost like sharing a taxi with lots of people! We won't hesitate to choose La Pace again as we would like to return to Sorrento in the future.

We’ve just returned from this wonderful hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful ,the staff amazing , the food was far better than any other all inclusive we’ve been to before.One criticism we thought the white wine was undrinkable and we didn’t see many others drinking it, how ever people seemed to drink the red.The courtesy bus into Sorrento was regular. There isn’t any where to walk outside the hotel so it’s very much a hotel based holiday.The organised trips were excellent and can be booked through reception as well as Jet2. All in all a fabulous holiday and would recommend.

Stunning traditional art deco interior in the public areas but the rooms are very dated. Staff on reception were very helpful and friendly. Sea view rooms are a must as there’s a building behind the hotel which is being worked on. If you don’t spend much time in your then you’re ok but I’d be devastated if I had one of those rooms. The hair dryer takes ages and cuts out all the time. Ted coffee and powder milk filled every day is nice. The pool area lacks sunbeds and they get reserved early. It’s very quiet around the pool and all you hear is other peoples conversations. The food is a better quality I’ve be used to on all inclusive but a smaller choice. Soft drinks are served out of 2 litres bottles and most alcohol are unbranded. There is peroni on tap. The hotel can arrange trips for you that are better value than if booked with the jet2 rep. The shuttle bus into Sorrento is a free service provided by the hotel is very good. I personally did not like the entertainment, dancing around your table while you’re eating and a man playing a guitar right in front of you at dinner was uncomfortable for us. The waiter / manager was very friendly and did a DJ set one night which was better. Very clean room a credit to the staff. Go to the restaurant with the views organised by the hotel , get there before the sunsets and have a walk around before you eat to make the most if the stunning view. It’s in Italy and it’s different to Spanish and American hotels if that’s what your used to, it’s a nice small hotel in a residential area so a bit rustic. Long walk up hill to town.

unsure what we would feel about hotel after reading some reviews. On arrival efficient and friendly front line staff. Reception area spacious and opulent. Loved the decor. Room with Balcony overlooking pool. Tiled floor, material wallpaper very clean. Tea making facility and fridge with bottled water in room. Room cleaned and refreshed daily. Towels changed without being asked arrived lunchtime served outside and well directed by staff members. Friendly staff bar areas, dining rooms. More than happy with food. Enough selection. Used gym one day few machines could not operate but enough in there plus sauna and jacuzzi. Outside pool cold not heated vast selection sunbeds, chairs tables etc Hotel approx 1.5 from centre. Walkable but roads bit hairy, shuttle bus available Not much entertainment of an evening but Giovanni proved a useful DJ on Saturday night. Overall we were pleasantly surprised and we shall definitely visit again

Beautifully decorated art deco designed hotel built in 2000 with usb charging points in the bedrooms. A real treat. Bar lounge played swing music most nights and was very relaxing. Very well maintained and freshly decorated. Beds were hard and pillows flat. Food okay for all inclusive. Lunchtime salads and pizza very good. Great range of drink’s including cocktails and wine Staff were very friendly and helpful A great adult only option . Shuttle bus was a great addition but only 20 minutes walk into the town. Really enjoyed our stay.

Having read the previous reviews I expected the hotel to be a bit dated which it is. However, the public areas are very spacious and well kept, our room was a really good size and very clean. We had a suite on the sixth floor which was ideal because there was a separate bed in the lounge area for our teenager. Food is pretty typical for an all inclusive - presentation wasn’t always great, sometimes the combinations seemed a bit random but we always found things to eat which we enjoyed . Omelettes were cooked to order at breakfast time each day, there was also a good selection of bread, pastries, cakes, ham and cheese. Lunch was served in the pool bar, again everything was freshly prepared and if you missed lunch, there was a late lunch with a more limited choice served all afternoon. Evening meal was served in the main restaurant. Deserts were delicious! We didn’t venture into the pool because it was too cold! However, the pool area was lovely, there were plenty of sunbeds and chairs. Staff were really helpful. Location wise you are about 30 minute walk from the centre of Sorrento, there is a free shuttle bus which takes you from the hotel to the town centre and return is also provided at various times. This could perhaps do with running a little bit more often. If you’re looking to spend two weeks relaxing in a luxurious all inclusive hotel this is probably isn’t the place, if however you want to use the hotel as a base for exploring the area this hotel does the job nicely.

This hotel is old but very well looked after.
The staff from reception to the restaurant manager and waiters, bar staff and maids are all worthy of a 5 star review.
The food was excellent and catered very well to my gluten intolerance.
Will definitely be going back in the future and want to give one final special thanks to Giovanni the restaurant manager for going above and beyond.
