Hotel Der Weinmesser

Holiday in August for a week, 4 adults, hotel was good overall, but not outstanding for the price in my opinion.

Location:
Right next to a supermarket and the bus stop, the center of Schema within walking distance, it is a nice walk to Merano through the vineyards and apple orchards.

Room:
Room is nicely furnished, modern and always clean. Amenities are also regularly replenished. You don't hear anything from the neighbors. Only the air conditioning system seemed more like a ventilation system and didn't cool properly, but that could perhaps be changed centrally.

Hotel complex:
Very nice facility with attention to detail and a great view. Dinner takes place on the terrace.
At times too few loungers by the pool, especially in the afternoon.
Sauna is switched on on request, which prevents unnecessary electricity consumption. There are several saunas in the sauna area, but no ice or a cold pool to cool down. The relaxation area is for both the sauna and the indoor pool, which makes it sometimes very noisy.

Staff:
The staff in the restaurant are very friendly and accommodating, things are cleared up quickly and you are regularly asked about your wishes.
The hotel manager is very friendly, the hotel manager becomes rather cold and doesn't come across as authentic in her friendly manner, a rather distant atmosphere arises.

Eat:
The quality of the food is very good and the menu in the evening (5 courses) is varied. However, if you don't like something on the menu, there are always the same alternatives. The salad buffet also doesn't change and isn't really diverse. At breakfast you can order various egg dishes, the selection at the buffet is good in terms of taste, with local cheeses, but not varied and rather less special. The buffet is set up the same every day and doesn't change. Lunch often includes the dishes from the previous day. The option of a vegetarian diet is available and is particularly well implemented at the gala dinner.

Events:
Unfortunately, apart from a yoga class twice a week, no sports courses are offered. In addition to the gala dinner, the BBQ evening and the tasting of samples, there are unfortunately no events such as music in the evening in the bar. It is empty most of the time. It's good that there is a room next to the reception where you can find out about hiking routes etc.
