The stay overall was okay, but it was not a good value for money and I wouldn't choose it again or recommend to anyone. Location is beautiful, but hard to find something in the hotel itself, that would make me want to come back.

The rooms are really cozy with an amazing view on the surrounding landscape. The staff is friendly and even though the spa is small it's very relaxing.

Probably the best Hotel and SPA in Latvia. Located in amazing place. It could be rainy and grey in Riga, but very different there. We've been there for 10 times or more and will come again. In our last visit restorant menu and service became even better. Thank you Ivan for hospitality.

Pictures are great, but you need to clean the place yourself. Toilet is outside and its whitout water. And smells like these toilets usually do 😊 Place is next to a open gravel mine, quarry, with excavators and huge trucks and a highway. Really great stay here! Location wise perfect if you want to explore the Gauja national park, not far from Riga, Sigulda or Cesis. If you want to stay somewhere a bit different and off the beaten track this is it. Fire pit, BBQ, sauna and rocking chairs to look out over the lake- just perfect. Our host was lovely, very attentive. I would come back and stay!

Nice place to stay if you are exploring area. House was clean and good equipped. Surroundings really beautiful and well maintained. Several places where to rest calmly. Nice that there is sauna as well to have ultimate relaxation.

Amazing place, with an amazing host! The charming large country estate is placed in amazing nature, with a small stream running right underneath the house! A beautiful pond is available for swimming, and sauna and indoor pool is available as well.

Very friendly host! Beautiful grounds complete with a walking path and swimming pond. There is a volleyball net, basketball and football field. Plenty of activities inside and out to enjoy. A real lovely place!

Karlamuiza is a nice little retreat inside the Gauja National Park in Latvia. I was staying in one of the new rooms and my room was very spacious with a comfortable huge bed and a very modern bathroom. Landlady and her English-speaking daughter were so welcoming! Such a cute building and lobby, wish I was spending more than one night to enjoy the facilities (games, couches, yard, sauna) Easy parking. This place is fantastic! Cesis is a lovely little town and Arkhouse is a beautiful, homely place to stay. Sauna and swimming pool too! Our host was amazing and bent over backwards to do anything to help. Stay here!

Really nice accomodation. Very clean, enough space in the room, public fridge and TV. About a five minute walk to the next supermarket and about 10 to the city centre. There you can find plenty restaurants and some nice bars. Parking directly in front of the building and for free. Breakfast can be ordered separately and is prepared freshly. Great value for the money. Very comfortable, extremely large room. Amazing water pressure in the shower! I wish my airbnb was half this good. I’m very happy here and can highly recommend it. However! Be warned!! Google maps will put you on the back side of the building. Go around the block and you will find the entrance.

They mixed up our rooms. Also hot water was barley warm, very unpleasant to take a shower.

It's ok place to stay. Great location in very center of the town and has decent view out of a window and the room was clean. Only reason why I gave 3 stars is because they should not be classified as a hotel because they don't have active reception and they don't offer breakfast. Very nice location, far from any city trouble and noises. The guest house with two bedrooms, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, living room with a fireplace and the nearby sauna house are surrounded by a pond, trees and fields. It's possible to have a barbeque outside. Everything was clean and very comfortable. The owners are very friendly, good communication.

Very beautiful cosy house in the middle of nature. Very hard to find as it's very well hidden. But once you're there you won't regret. Three fireplace is heating up the whole house. 2 very big bedroom and comfy beds. Kitchen has the essentials, or you have a BBQ if you want. Bathroom is smallish but working. Access to an outside sauna is a plus and your very own little row boat complete the picture

What to expect from a converted garage? A lot in this case. We rented two of these well sized apartments for us and our teenaged kids. But two young kids could sleep on a fold-out coach. Comfortable bed. Small kitchen, adequate for preparing breakfast. Aircondition (not needed during our stay in the height of the Latvian Summer). Quiet and nice location; 10 minute walk to the castle.

Great hotel in the centre of the town within easy walking distance of everywhere you might want to visit. The rooms are great and the cafe (downstairs) is also a bonus if you don't want to go too far for a meal!

One night stay as solo traveller. Nice hotel which is well positioned in the town near all amenities. Nice room and clear and tidy. Staff helpful and polite. There is not tea or coffee making facilities in the room but they will leans you a kettle.

I stayed in Cecis as part of a group tour. Ground floor room with a view to the carpark and main street but Cecis is not a rowdy place so not an issue! The window opened which was lovely as it was unseasonably warm. Bed comfortable enough and bathroom clean and functional. We had no clue what hotel to choose from in Cesis. We had one day planned there to see the town and the lovely castle. Villa Santa is greatly located. Location in the middle of the forest. Feels like a real forest home vibe, but you still stay in the city of Cesis. We stayed at Villa Santa place for 1 night with a friend's little doggy. They allowed us, but my shock was even though we paid extra for our four-legged friend, they did not even offer a dog bowl for water. Secondly, my disappointment was with the spa....

Typical guesthouse with only 5 rooms. The furnishings are acceptable, although cheap. Good bed pillows, but the mattress is hard. NO soundproofing. The restaurant is closed, there is no reception as such. The included breakfast only serves cold cuts. Verdict - acceptable for one night, but no more.

This place constantly has good food. I've been going there for years and quality is always the same - not the fanciest dishes but tasty and will get you full.

Food is very delicious but the pricing is a bit too high for me. Still it is a great place to eat, I truly recommend it!
