Reviews
Other than that the hotel itself is budget so don't expect anything more than that. That said we had constant problems with the lack of TV service, nonstop running toilet, loud hotel maintenance, poor hot water and terrible wifi. The fare on offer in the food service is limited and becomes tedious if having an extended stay, although the dining staff are fantastic. The area is a tourist trap, don't expect value anywhere around you with prices on trinkets almost half the price in Port Louis. That said it is fairly easy to get around with taxis and buses right on the door stop. Overall it was quite underwhelming for what we paid, so I'd not recommend this hotel as a result.
The hotel area is small, but cozy and green.
The rooms are certainly "tired", but clean and with the necessary amenities.
A very decent option in terms of price/quality.
The food was decent. Staff is helpful.
I really liked everything! Yes, the rooms are a bit tired, but everything is kept clean. They cleaned every day, although I didn't ask. The hotel grounds are simply beyond words! A green garden with lots of plants and songbirds - you can relax both your soul and body. My room was 601, I was absolutely delighted with the interior and especially the terrace. I didn't want to leave...
The breakfasts are simple, but you won't go hungry.
The location is the best you can imagine, the hotel is located along the road, after crossing which the city beach begins with a well-kept park area made of mainly casuarina trees, which provide good shade, along the beach there are plenty of street food outlets, and along the road there are many cafes and restaurants. Cars with delicious ice cream also arrive. And the prices for food are quite reasonable. You can also buy groceries at the nearest Jumbo supermarket (700 m to the right of the hotel along the road).
A wide strip of beautiful clean beach, just take coral slippers with you, because entering the water without them can be uncomfortable. I will recommend Manisa to my friends who are going to Mauritius
Negatives: The hotel has seen its better times long time ago. Very old and dirty rooms. Beds are like swings for kids. You can only lay in the center otherwise you’ll jump out on the floor. Shower nozzles sprinkle water in each direction but you. No shower gel or shampoo in room, just empty dispensers. Dirty fan hanging from the ceiling, I don’t know what for as there is functioning A/C in room. Loud music plays till late night from the streets - thin walls. Poor breakfast. I mean, ,Hallo!´ it’s the year 2025, wake up, please. We’ve stayed in many properties and cheaper than this one but they were all modern and clean. This property was definitely NOT worth the price.
Overall feeling, for one night stay when you’re traveling, okay. You’ll probably handle it. But for one or two week vacation? Never! Please, skip this place. And also Flic en Flac is not very nice location either if you don’t have money to stay in La Pirogue or Sugar Beach which is luxurious with gorgeous clean beaches. Other spots in Flic en Flac are dirty with lots of dead corals and stones. Of course, there are dead corals in Mauritius but here is the most of them and very big pieces and quite stinky, too. There are nicer beaches in Mauritius than Flic en Flac.
