Holiday Inn Mauritius Mon Tresor, an IHG Hotel

Unfortunately the only hotel near the airport if you need to catch an early morning flight. Super overpriced for the level of comfort. Stuffy, smelly rooms. We opened window to get “fresh air” and constantly had cigarette smoke coming in. Food was barely edible. Service was poor. I don’t recommend this hotel unless you are desperate.

This is the worst IHG hotel I've ever stayed in: the room was ok and the employees were generally pleasant and helpful, but the food was bad and the managers demonstrated terrible customer service.
Buffet breakfast: omelette bar was nice but the rest of the food and drinks were very limited and not fresh, either time we ate. The club sandwich is a crime against humanity.
I asked for a late check out and was quoted a full-price overnight rate (at more than it would cost to book online) despite the hotel being mostly empty.
A staff member misheard my lunch order (simple mistake, no problem) but then a manager messed it up the second time and tried to argue that "dressings on the side" doesn't apply to the sauce (coleslaw dressing) in a wrap. Then the F&B manager (who I didn't ask to speak to) rudely repeated this argument without any acknowledgement or apology.
When my wife stayed here a few weeks later, they didn't ask her to pay on check-in but knocked on her door 30 minutes later, with security, and angrily insisted that she come immediately to pay.
Tl;dr - rooms are fine (though expensive), food is bad, leadership (not the staff) was woeful

Convenient location to the airport was the best thing about this hotel. Sunday we just needed a small bite to take our malaria medicine but they only offered a buffet dinner . Room had a bad odour but they couldn’t offer us a new room., they just came by and sprayed a disinfectant. You are trapped here since there are is nothing around here. Good for a quick transit but that’s it.

The parent company IHG's website had a "Dine for less - save between 25-30% on your dining bill, every time you dine with us" offer for this Holiday Inn Mauritius property. I spoke and showed the offer to the Front Office Manager. I waited for four days. When I did not get any response from the Front Office Manager, I approached the Reception Desk and informed them that I’d like to speak with the Front Office Manager. The Front Office Manager and Brand Manager declined to provide the discount. I posted a review on their website. The hotel removed my review. So I have posted my review here at Google.

Definitely not a four star hotel service.
1. They serve the same buffet food for lunch and dinner. Food is prepared the night before and kept as buffet until the next evening. Some of the sauces (e.g. coconut chutney) were used for so many days and they started smelling. I had to complain for them to actually take those off the buffet.
2. The staff is strange. There is no warmth in the conversation. But some of the staff members are great and nice to talk to. For example, the room had two water bottles and I only drank one, so one was unopened. I asked the cleaning lady to give me two water bottles when she came the next day. She told me she can only give one water bottle in return of the empty bottle. Another example, a staff brought the bill and the payment machine while I was eating for me to pay.
3. Some snacks were good e.g. vegetable samosa but spring rolls, oh my god, it was oozing oil and if you eat that you are doing to have problems with your throat or your stomach.
4. There is zero flexibility. The dinner starts at 6 pm, not a minute before. The check-out is 11 am, not a minute later. Of course, they have the right to do so. But I am just mentioning so there are not expectations.
5. Impossible to take a nap during the day because of all the noises in the corridor. Not a problem at night.
