We had a lovely stay at LUX Grand Baie* – the location is absolutely beautiful, and the hotel’s modern design is both stylish and welcoming. The incredible sunsets each evening were truly breathtaking and made the setting feel even more special.
The staff were warm and friendly, and the food throughout the resort was very good – the Japanese-style restaurant was a particular highlight. We also really enjoyed the wide range of complimentary water sports, which were a great bonus and perfect for both adults and kids.
A special mention goes to our butler Kishan, who was fantastic. He went above and beyond to take care of every detail and made our stay feel completely effortless.
The hotel also has great facilities, including a well-equipped gym, a relaxing spa, and a kids club, though we didn’t use the kids club much ourselves.
The only downside was some inconsistency in restaurant service. On three occasions, our orders were forgotten when not placed immediately – this happened twice with coffee and once with my child’s meal. A little more attentiveness would make a big difference.
Overall, LUX Grand Baie* is a stunning hotel in a fantastic location. With a few service improvements, it would be truly exceptional. Thanks to the amazing sunsets, fun water sports, and Kishan’s exceptional hospitality, we left with some wonderful memories.

I enjoyed my time here, but I don’t think I would come back.
We were told by the reception that the ice cream was free, but we were charged for it!
Also, the some staff outside was extremely rude and not helpful at all.

Let me start with the positive. The hotel is breathtaking in its architecture and interior design. The gym is well equipped and the staff there friendly and helpful. The Japanese restaurant is amazing although not part of the fully inclusive package you do get a supplement when dining there.
The negatives were plenty. Our room was not made up two out of the six days we were there. Although management did respond we were woken early the next morning by housekeeping wanting to do the room. The amenities in the bathroom were empty on arrival and never replenished. The main restaurant, which is one of two eating areas available was a service disaster. On the night of our arrival we went to dinner at 7.30pm. We had a two year old with us and immediately ordered his food. At 9pm after four increasingly irate requests he got his food. We sat an hour before we got our first drinks and then not the wine we requested as it was not available. We quickly learnt to make use of self service and do without hot breakfasts and coffee. The hostess in the morning was rude and unhelpful. There is very little entertainment and certainly no activities for children so would not recommend for families. No vibe at the pool with music being played on and off over the week and service impossible to get during the day. A beautiful wet bar in the pool that was never manned. We had a week of very pleasant weather and created wonderful memories but the lack of service was a bit of a downer.

We had a junior suit with an ocean view. The room was spacious and clean. The furniture is new and technologically equipped. Only i wish to have ironing in the room

1- For the room service, you need to call them multiple times to finally get what you requested.
2- For the pool service, no one will come and take orders such as towels and drinks unless if you kept waving for a couple of minutes. This happened almost every day in our stay. Another situation is the waiter will tell you "one minute," and they do not show up again. This also happened several times.
3- Finally, the restaurants options are limited, and the prices overall are exaggerated compared to the food quality and the service.
Finally, the location overall is good with proximity to some shopping malls. But if you enjoy a nice walk on foot, then perhaps this may not be the best option due to narrow unsafe streets around the facility
Overall, it is an excellent and luxurious facility with less than optimal service. So if you don't mind slow service and not a big fan of walking around, then this place is ideal for you.

Our stay in Mauritius was in the back of a family wedding in Zambia so arriving at the magnificent hotel was welcomed.
The interiors are superb. It’s truly designed to be a tropical slender. We booked to stay 5 nights. The room was spaced and clean. The resort, although during the wet season, was populated with just enough guests, making it peaceful enough. The only drawback which we experienced was the number of families with small children. A little taken aback by this, we were informed on arrival that there were adult only areas of the hotel. Namely a pool area in the 3rd floor. We visited and there were children there too. Not to be a killjoy - however, we had hoped for a more peaceful time away. Staff amazing. Food wonderful. Location tops.

It had amazing views and cool water sports included with the booking. Like glass boat, water skiing, kayaking and scuba diving! Near the beach is also another beach in walking distance that had sting rays! The pools are great and not too deep. 1.2 M to be exact. Sandy beaches and beautiful areas in the hotel, WITH the extra restaurants in the hotel make it an amazing location for people of all ages. 5 stars.

We had a lovely afternoon tea with cakes. Saleem looked after us & was so polite. He made us feel welcome, gave us good advice on our drinks selection. He even made a non alcoholic drink for us. Highly recommend & a beautiful place

My stay at LUX Grand Baie* was far from the luxury experience I expected. While the hotel looks beautiful, the service was extremely slow—room dining took 2.5 hours, restaurant service was slow even for water, and the food quality was underwhelming with very limited options. I ended up ordering fast food, but staff refused to bring my delivery to my room, which was frustrating.
Housekeeping was poor—the pool was never cleaned, my bed sheets were not changed, and when I requested room cleaning, only the kitchen utensils and minibar were cleaned.
Checkout was chaotic—I waited over an hour for luggage assistance despite multiple calls and even visiting reception myself. When my luggage was finally taken, no one helped load it into the car, which was unacceptable for a so-called luxury resort.
The resort lacks entertainment—very limited water sports, no evening activities, and nothing happening on weekends. After 5 PM, your only options are early dinner or sleep.
Overall, this hotel is not worth the price. It focuses more on money than the quality and service, and I would not recommend it. My stay at Paradise Beachcomber was far better in every way.

My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary at the resort.
The hotel staff are truly amazing. They're polite, helpful and offered us the best service.
From the mocktails at arrival to the yummy anniversary cake that greeted us in the room....to the packed breakfasts at departure, they took the stress off us and made this a very relaxing holiday.
The food was divine. The Asian restaurant was such a fine dining treat.
our favourite dinner meals were had at the rooftop restaurant. The servers were proficient. Meals were served hot and in quick succession.
The location was ideal. It felt secluded and peaceful, yet was close enough that a short drive took you to local stores and market places.
The beach was kept in pristine order..as were the pools.
The spa has been by far the best one I've ever been to. Make sure to give it a try!

Amazing hotel with stellar service, the best sea + beach you can find in Mauritius and state of the art amenities (spa + gym).
The only caveat is the lights and blinds in the room can be a bit confusing as they are all very automated. The tech can also be noisy or at least ours was - especially the blinds closing and our reading lights.
