The best thing about this hotel was the location. Located right in the middle of Thamel. You can find restaurants, shops, bars and other facilities in every direction from the hotel. They had a basic option for breakfast (set menu) which was ok. Staffs at the reception and the manager were quite helpful. Rooms were ok. not very spacious but enough for what you'll need.

The rooms look and feel very nice, the rooftop restaurant is high quality and the ambiance is really cozy. The staff is very helpfull and polite, and so are the owners.

Excelsior is a basic hotel with very basic amenities. But it is located in a very good spot in Thamel. I like the standard of this 3 star hotel, it was well deserved title by Marriott. Standards kept high and surpassing expectations.

This hotel is a 3 star in a good location and not very expensive... If your happy to eat out in thamel and just use it as a base it's a good option.

Clean and convenient. There is a refregirator in the room, and I had a complimentary drink service. Services are comfortable and very attentive. A breakfast buffet has a variety of food.

The stay is well & neat managed. But considering the room size only a 4 Feet skinny person can sleep or stay in the room properly. Also the receptionist might keep you waiting for an hour to allot the room even after prior reservation and ask for extra charges for priority.

This is the best Marriott hotel I have ever been - much better than those luxurious one because it has the most incredible nice and helpful staff ( the front desk and restaurant staff team as well as chefs especially the head chef). Although the toilet was outside my room (only my room - 203, not others' rooms), I love this place. The staff were so nice. I enjoyed breakfast a lot. I could exercise well inside my room while watching the views outside. Minor problems might include small roads (normal in this city), coldness during electricity blackout.

This one of the best known hotels in Kathmandu. Service is good and location too. However it needs to renovate the bathrooms and carpets. The surroundings, garden at the back, breakfast restaurant all are great. For a hotel of this price I expected toothbrush, toothpaste, comb etc but there was none. Good fun because there are many souvenir stores, restaurants, casinos and money changers around.

Nivas Boutique home is a lovely place to stay. This place is full of different symbols and materials of Nepali culture. The room was good, the food was delicious. This environment is quiet and good to stay in for a few days in peace.

Great place for Yoga lovers in heart of nature. The hotel is designed with traditional Naples architecture its as ancient look . We didn't get to stay long enough. We were there in October 2022. The grounds are amazing the staff was impeccable the food was delicious and the room was incredible. The attention to detail and guest care is something we don't have much in the states anymore. They went above and beyond. If we ever go back we will definitely stay here again!

A super hotel in a hectic town. Immense and beautiful with a large pool. Food was great at the restaurant with a large buffet to choose from. The location is good, just a short walk to the famous iconic stupa through a maze of small street. Bit of a mix up with our room though. If you request a non smoking room but your room smells strongly of cold cigarette, ask for a change.

Best budget hotel to stay in the Thamel area. Hotel is located a bit inside from the street and I had to search for it with the locals for a while but was able to locate it in no time. The service was extraordinary and rooms were great. Breakfast was good. What I liked is that you wont get to hear any hustle and bustle from the busy Thamel Street at all.

Nice quiet place to stay while in Thamel. Double room without really bargaining was rs800. Had Wi-Fi, communal washroom and shower. Very friendly staff and right in the heart of town. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a reasonable priced to stay.
