The hotel is quite far from the center of Koh Phangan; a taxi from the pier costs 1500 Baht. There is also a service to reach the hotel via a speedboat from Koh Samui at a good price, which takes you directly to the hotel without having to go through the pier and take an expensive taxi need to book with the hotel directly.
We arrived at the hotel, and the check-in time was 3 PM, but we only received our room at 4 PM after waiting a whole hour for the check-in process.
The hotel itself is very authentic; if you are looking for a modern hotel, this is not the place. The hotel features large villas with pools, there is a central pool, and a private beach. The downside is that the sand is rocky, so you need shoes to enter the water.
The staff is very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed a lovely evening with a music performance and a good meal. The food at the pool is also decent and reasonably priced. However, the breakfast was not to my taste; there were almost no cheeses and the food was primarily Asian-based, which may not suit European preferences.
There is a very nice village with excellent restaurants just 5 minutes from the hotel, with affordable massages and everything you need at very low prices. I highly recommend visiting there, but the hotel charges nearly 1000 Baht for a round-trip taxi ride.
The hotel has stunning views, and the location is very beautiful. There are a lot of mosquitoes, so it’s essential to bring mosquito repellent.
For those who love a traditional Thai-style hotel, I highly recommend Santhyia Hotel.
There are many different activities, including spa treatments, scooter rentals, and cooking classes.
We were there for Christmas and will definitely be going back!
We had a private pool villa which was spectacular. Amazing facilities in the room. Huge bathroom and the pool was almost Olympic sized 😂
The pool was lovely, and the beach restaurant, By the Sea, was a standout feature. Sunbeds in the shade, just above the water, create the kind of idyllic spot you never want to leave. The massage was also very nice, with unbeatable value for price.
The staff and service truly made this hotel special. They were warm, attentive, and flexible—allowing for an early check-in and letting me enjoy the amenities long after checkout while waiting for my transportation.
Breakfast was adequate but unremarkable. At this price point, I expected something more noteworthy. Speaking of price, the NYE period undoubtedly drove the cost up significantly (likely 3–4 times the average rate), which did temper the overall value.
That said, thanks to the exceptional service and the beautiful room, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it—especially outside peak pricing periods.
