Reviews
Looks like a lovely remote place for a holiday.
The only thing to note is the beach bar could reconsider the music choices, no need for club house when there's 3 people at the beach chilling...
Otherwise LOVELY
Notes,
1. Breakfast is great; pub, beach bar, and fine dining restaurant are a let-down. The distance to surrounding towns makes it impossible to eat out without catching a taxi. Watched a lot of people use Grab to have food delivered.
2. Drinks are decent but won't blow your socks off. The swim-up bar is fun and sipping cocktails in the ocean is always enjoyable.
3. Rooms are romantic and spacious, but could use a bit of cleaning. The rooms are very "Instagramy", but when looking up close they could use some remodeling. Bath tub is fun but there aren't any bath soaps other than body wash.
4. Beach was good, albeit a little rocky. Just bare in mind this is SE Asia so there's always noticeable plastic in the water. Kayak needs replaced and 1 of the 2 paddles was broken.
5. The pools were very nice, and massive.
6. Hotel staff were good, although the language barrier makes it a bit challenging to communicate. A lot weren't even from Thailand so the little I knew didn't help.
I saw another reviewer complaining about the buffet breakfast having no variety and always being the same. There is so much choice you could have something different every day !
I’d be interested to see what the hotel is like when it’s more full.
Swimming pool big and clean, lots of staff keeping it and the whole place clean.
Free shuttle bus from hotel into Nathon and Chaweng.
Rooms lovely and big, huge hot tub sized bath which we used a few times.
There is no elevator so if you have mobility issues you may struggle to get around.
The hotel is located in a secluded and peaceful part of the island. Which for us was great. But if you’re looking for a busy place for nightlife, shopping or restaurants this isn’t it. You can’t walk to anything. Nothing around the hotel but nature. So you will need your own transport to get around.
The beach was quite nice and peaceful. There’s a lot of small pebbles and rocks which could make swimming difficult but the hotel does have a large swimming pool. Some trash has washed up on the beach and it doesn’t look like it’s cleaned much.
All in all we had a reasonably good stay. But the hotel could use some renovations as some things are looking a bit old and worn and also I’d prefer the check out time was later than 11am.
As always colours reminiscent of vomit in nature are warnings and not a decorative choice.
The room had a few unpaid extras - termites gnawing the bed, cockroaches scurrying, mould in the showers and dirt, dirt, dirt.
The front desk when we arrived to complain quickly filled with other unhappy guests: a German lady lay weeping trying to write down her grievances, another couple demanded a refund while waiting for their taxi.
The chaos seemed to not stir the staff too much. They continued as they were, occasionally exhaling an "Ahhh" in response.
The hotel should be closed; the staff disbanded to take up fishing, modelling, cleaning anything; the pool evaporated into the fermiment and blitzed.
Never stay here.
The beach is inexistent, difficult to reach, as the sun beds, and the beach bar service.
Rooms very large but dated, need a huge renovation.
At the end, we decide to go away, and book another resort for to spend the rest of the vacation in a bettr place.
We travel by our own motorcycles so the isolation is perfect for us.
The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The waffles are recommended!
The pool could be cleaner, and some of the staff could use a little more training but we are very laid back and patient with other people. More staff and training would be great but would drive up the very reasonable prices.
The restaurant staff are extraordinary! A highlight of our trip, was the bespoke private fine dining dinner the Head Chef designed and prepared for us, when he learned we were there for a big family reunion and birthday celebrations.
The bathroom towels were dirty, I can see spots and stains on them. Not only so but one day when they changed our bed sheets, our pillow casing really stink. Like that wet smell when you don’t dry your clothes properly. We asked them to changed it but they forgot.
Service was a hit or a miss. Something they are super nice but other times forgetful and not too helpful for tourist but they try.
The Thai staff and other staff are nice but they don’t exude 5 star service. Not sure who rates hotels but this is no where near 5 stars. Also the reception area is not handicap friendly!!! You have to walk up a flight of stairs!
The beach is not good to swim. Rocky and not as well clean as expected. The swimming pool was big but it looked dirty but it was clean enough to swim in.
The breakfast was good for being a free breakfast that’s included in the price but it was the same breakfast everyday. Kind of boring.
We did one night at their restaurant and it was good. My biggest gripe is how the place didn’t look too clean and our ac smelled really bad. Not only so but their wifi suck big time. Like didn’t work half the time and was really slow. I couldn’t get any work done!!!!
The gym is small but had enough equipment if you knew how to work out.
Overall it was an experience that was fun and enjoyable but would we come back? Hell NO!
The staff is nice but the whole resort needs an overhaul. Btw it is in a very remote part of the island. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is your place. Everything is very far away and the taxi or grabs are expensive. The hotel did provide free shuttle service to the mall area which was nice but only gave you about 4 hours to shop and eat. We did a massage and nails so not quite enough time.
Overall we had fun but we made lemonade out of lemons. Just don’t expect highly of this place and you will enjoy yourself. It’s not a top ten resort in Thailand and it’s not even a top ten resort on the island.
