Reviews
We had an absolutely amazing week with these amazing people back in early January.
Amazing hospitality, great food, the most-perfect beachfront in all of Lonely Beach. In fact, we watched the rest of Lonely Beach come over to our beachfront every day, especially for our sunset views.
It was our 10-year wedding anniversary and they made us feel special from the moment our van pulled in their parking lot. And it stayed perfect for seven perfect nights.
We miss the staff so much...what good people.
Thank you, Siam Beach. See you soon.
Cons: the hotel was so terrible that after the first night we ran away, paying for a neighboring hotel. We lived in a Premium room on the 2nd floor. There is no "premium" there. The road goes right behind these rooms. We did not sleep all night, since even at night there are loud motorcycles driving there. Just imagine that you listen to the noise of the engine every 10 seconds and try to fall asleep to it. The noise of the waves is also audible, but they cannot drown out the noise of the engine. Also, the room has very poor soundproofing in general. If you are unlucky with your neighbors, then I sympathize. You can hear your neighbors talking loudly behind the wall, even hiccuping. In general, the room is poorly built. No privacy. The front door has an "open passage for mice" in the form of a huge hole at the bottom.
Breakfasts are a separate story, I have never seen such bad breakfasts anywhere. Even the most basic hotels in Thailand have better breakfasts. Burnt greasy scrambled eggs, no choice, long wait for dishes to be replenished. The fruit was pineapple and watermelon, they didn't look very fresh. Everything looked so bad that I only took the fruit.
We passed by the kitchen where they prepare your food. It all didn't look very clean. We saw a dog go there. And in general, the restaurant smells of something.
There are no sun loungers on the beach, we were not offered beach towels.
In general, I will never recommend this place to anyone, it is absolutely not worth the money.
Suitable for those who like privacy, the atmosphere is very good.
Walk less than 10 steps to the beach, quiet at night, suitable for relaxation, listening to the sound of the waves.
The evening meal was delicious, unfortunately, there was a bad smell at the mosquito repellent.
Breakfast was good, tasted good, a lot of variety, overall everything was okay.
If I have a chance, I will go again.
Brekfast for europeans is not so good also. If you prefer Tai brekfast then it is ok.
It is not so bad, but it is not worth the money.
Fortunalety for us, we had a great view from our room.
Beach and sea are beautiful and clean.
Overpriced and Underwhelming for that I got: I stayed in the Standard room, and I didn't expect any kind of luxury, but the condition of the room and building was just bad. Just some examples of the condition (you can check my pictures):
- Dirty aircon
- terrible smell from under the house (smelled like trash and a sewer)
- tiles of floor in the room are broken
- wardrobe broken
- fridge is rusty
- cracks in the floor next to windows
- exposed electrical wire everywhere
- broken towel holder in the bathroom (and no other holder to dry your clothes, swimsuits, etc. I mean, this hotel is at the beach, people need to dry their clothes somewhere)
- chairs on the balcony, very old and uncomfortable
- trash (!) and left-over material from construction or renovation (door frames, wood, window frames and windwos glasses) everywhere around the building
Also, the entrance and the windows of the bathroom faced to the street (the building is very close to the street). Therefore, you can always hear traffic noises.
At one night we had no water. We couldn't shower.
They offered me to refund the following nights or to stay in another room. Although the other room was a better category, the condition was just bad as mine room (need a lot of renovation, too).
From the bed there is an unobstructed view of the ocean and palm trees, the rooms are large, the bed was comfortable, everything worked as it should. I'll grant the fridge was a little rusty and the showerhead somewhat fragile, but I didn't come expecting western-standard perfection.
It is true you will hear some traffic noise, but mostly only 7am-7pm, it didn't bother me. There was no loud music, though we went during a quiet period.
The location is fantastic at the quiet northern end of the beach, with town and restaurants a pleasant 15 mins walk down the beach and through an abandoned hotel in the jungle(!).
The lady at reception was not the most friendly or helpful, this is true. However the bar and restaurant staff had passable english and were always friendly and happy to chat, and the head bartender makes a wicked mojito.
The breakfast is also pretty damn good, with fresh fried and scrambled eggs, omelette bar, changing selection of pad thai and curries, a daily soup, and a lovely salad bar with finely sliced cabbage, carrots, tomatoes etc and surprisingly authentic selection of toppings and dressings, including obligatory nuts and fish sauce nam prik to dress your veggies, eggs or gaengs.
Don't hesitate.
