Reviews
I got the ocean view room which was on the top floor, and the view was breathtaking. Good to enjoy the ocean without heading down to the beach.
Hotel is also very near the main kata area with lots of good food and massages nearby. Downside is that the hotel is on a very steep hill but it's not too far of a walk, just treat it as an after meal workout, and for the view, it's totally worth it!
We found the hotel to be kid-friendly with regular activities, movie nights, and pool facilities. Also, they set up kids' bedding and a teepee in our room. What was a little frustrating was the last-minute changing of the planned activities. There were times we would get out of the pool, dry and change (as you can't go into kids club wet), just to find they'd switched the activity to simple colouring pages.
The lobby was a nice place to just relax and play board games or pool.
The cabaret night with buffet dinner was worth it! The kids' cooking class is a little less worthy... it's rather brief with the ingredients prepared and measured already (kid just needs to put them together).
The hotel is situated on a hill, but you can walk it if you're prepared for a couple minutes of physical exertion. My 5 year old could climb it! Alternatively, the hotel runs a free shuttle every 30 minutes, but I think it would be nice if this was offered later (until 8pm perhaps). Expect to pay 200baht for a tuktuk up the hill if you don't want to walk or if you've missed the shuttle.
There's a couple of beautiful cafes a little further up the hill (4min walk), I strongly recommend you check these out!! (A blanket and a pillow is one cafe).
What I think can be improved...
• re-silicone the showers - ours were looking worse for wear!
• replace the laminate furniture in the room because it's seemingly not coping with the humidity.
• put a non-slip coating on the room and hallway tiles. These are dangerously slippery when wet, which they often are after people have been at the pools. I think giving guests extra bath mats would be a helpful thing to do until the slipperiness is addressed.
• the soft flooring in the kids splash area desperately needs to be replaced. It's literally peeling away in many areas so it's a tripping hazard.
• a shade cloth over the playground and sandpit would be awesome.
The pool bar was one of our favorite places. The other one was the balance spa. Get out of the pool, straight into the spa! Aah!
Their in house spa is very clean with wonderful service. Not one of those dodgy ones you keep hearing about.
The food was tasty and ample. The buffet breakfast had a huge range of items.
The staff were all very friendly.
We celebrated a birthday there, the staff went above and beyond to make it special.
It is close to other local food places and just a small walk to the kata beach. The hotel runs shuttles to and from the beach every half an hour.
One thing to be mindful about is, the walk to the hotel might be challenging if you have difficulty walking because of the location being a bit up hill. Not a problem at all if you are in average health conditions.
They had cabaret nights, a complementary cultural show and few more events that might interest some.
Will definitely go back!
I loved that the staff was so friendly towards my son. When you arrive, they even have a kid's check-in counter. My son got a goodie bag with a coloring book, pens, and a stuffed animal toy.
Not to mention it's close to Kata beach. The hill coming up towards the hotel can be a bit of a hike depending on your ability and fitness level but they have a shuttle.
My only two recommendations for improvements are the breakfast buffet, it was quite average in terms of quality. And the housekeeping didn't clean our room until we called them.
Other than that, I'm so happy we stayed here! Would definitely recommend it for families with kids.
All the staff there are wonderful but we want to make a special thanks to Concierge Au for looking after us so well and made us feel special - exceptional service.
Fantastic clean & well maintained pool.
Rooms are spacious, clean & with lovely views.
Really recommend this resort and challenge you to walk the hill at least once!!
Perhaps one our best holidays!!
Our package was a very good value package including flights, transportations, accommodation, food and beverages. Several Pools to choose from. A relaxing destination with great views. Service from all staff is excellent. They are all very welcoming and serve with a smile whilst I can't name all of them, we feel those that shine above the rest are Apple and Add.
Breakfasts varied, a lot of local dishes. Housekeeping daily. There is a shuttle to the sea on a convenient schedule. Not far from the night market, where we always managed to eat delicious snacks.
Shopper is a wonderful hotel employee who made our child's stay fun and interesting. Thank you!
