Nice clean basic hotel, staff friendly and helpful, the rooms are serviced daily.
Close to Surin Beach and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and other amenities within walking distance.

I had booked and paid my stay with Surin sunset hotel two months ago through Agoda. However when I arrived, the manager said she has given my booked room to someone else, which means they have double booked or over booked.
I was in trouble for four and a half hours with my kids, before they have sort of resolved the problem.
No compensation offered.

Location is acceptable. Others should be considered before making a decision. I can not say too much to describe things about this hotel, please think about my review score if you are not sure. I would spend this price with another one. Please do not expect high values if you do not want to be disappointed. Totally, I only like the location.

The hotel staff were very attentive and friendly. I booked a package that included breakfast, and the service was outstanding. I stayed for 4 nights and had no problems at all.

Booked and paid via agoda 5 days before the stay. We then arrived at the hotel and were told they were fully booked and had no room available. Strangely, they were showing rooms available still online but at a higher price. It left us having to book another hotel on the day during the high season.

I read all these reviews before I stayed here for 2 months (dec & jan).
Firstly, I had a great experience here and wouldn’t choose anywhere else to stay, I will definately be returning.
Alot of the reviews on here mention a few issues which I would like to give my take on;
1) The road outside is busy:
Yes it is very busy sometimes and the cars and bikes drive fast in thailand, but that is not the fault of the hotel it’s just hard to cross the road outside because it’s on a bend. Also if you walk 10 metres up the road you can cross much more easily so it’s a null issue.
2) The bed matresses are a little hard, but if you ask for a matress topper they are happy to oblige and will install that under your sheets - this solved the issue for me
3) The hotel is very reasonably priced for the area and the free breakfast is actually decent with good basic options and friendly staff - you won’t find better for the cost
4) People have said that the staff are rude but my experience of Suda and Lilly is that they are chatty and friendly and always willing to listen and help if you ask them. They are extremely busy and often the guests are speaking multiple languages and I think they do a great job at managing everything. I have never once seen them be unpolite to anyone, even though some guests came across a bit rude they responded calmly.
5) I stayed on the 6th floor, premium double bedroom. It was spacious, clean, maids came every day and were trustworthy and thorough. If they didnt clean you can just request it and they will do it - sheets towels and all.
6) Wifi is perfectly fine - sometimes there are outages for a short time, but that is normal for any place even your own home. I think it was down only twice, late at night for a few hours in my whole stay of two months.
7) Location is brilliant. Literally one of the best locations in a 10km radius in terms of being able to get to different beaches and activities.
8) Parking is fine for bikes, sometimes it can be busy in peak periods but there are nearby spaces to park within 10 metres so it’s really no problem. Cars are a little more tricky but there are free car parks around 200 metres away
9) People are friendly and it’s quite easy to make friends or talk to people, it’s a very relaxed environment!
Overall I highly recommend this place and if you are thinking about staying here don’t hesitate based on the other reviews - you will definately enjoy your stay!

Sure it will suit people on a budget BUT paying extra for SEAVIEW BALCONY is a trap you CAN NOT see the ocean just huts

Very clean and very good service. The manager and staff were really very kind and courteous. Beautiful view of the city. I will return again, also for the delicious breakfast

This hotel very terrible. Cancellation my booking any how. Agoda sent me a message -
We are doing our best to ensure that the hotel provides you the room with the same price as it was a mistake from their end.

Execrable experience. The lady at the reception has an extremely contemptuous and haughty attitude. We received the keys, but once we arrived the room had not received any cleaning, bins full, sheets undone, etc. No commercial gesture, no apology, no compensation. On the contrary, she expressed herself very badly towards us. She did not show any cooperation when booking asked her to refund the amount of our reservation. We had to wait 2 hours on the phone with booking so that she finally deigned to return the amount to us. To flee.
