Reviews
From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and professionalism. The hotel offers stunning views of the Bodrum bay, and every corner is thoughtfully designed to balance luxury and comfort. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, and the overall atmosphere is both relaxing and refined.
A special thanks to the whole team members and to Mr. Mevlut, the hotel manager, whose leadership and personal attention truly elevated the experience. His presence was graceful and reassuring, and his dedication to ensuring every guest’s satisfaction was remarkable. He embodies the highest standards of hospitality and professionalism.
What truly impressed me was the level of care, even at checkout. I had an early morning flight at 6 a.m., and the staff made sure I didn’t leave without breakfast — they thoughtfully prepared a beautiful and delicious lunch box just for me. It’s small gestures like these that make a lasting impression.
I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a serene, luxurious escape with exceptional service and genuine care.
First, if you want to escape for a few days to relax, this would be one of the options. It's far away, and it takes almost 45 min. From the airport & the nearest shopping center is about 30 min. From the hotel. The view on sundeck is nice, though it's not very big. Also, the beach is 3 min. Away from the hotel, you go by buggy & should be aware that after 6 pm, you might find difficulty to find a buggy taking you back to the hotel.
I had high expectations for this hotel, which markets itself as a luxury destination, but unfortunately, my stay fell far below what I anticipated.
Upon arrival, I was given a dirty room with a very unpleasant view of the backyard. The pillows and bed cover were just left on a chair, and there was no kettle or cups for tea. Despite the hotel being almost empty during my stay, there were still many issues that simply shouldn’t happen at this price point.
Breakfast was underwhelming with very limited variety. The food inside the hotel restaurant was less than average, still overpriced. The safety locker in the room didn’t work, and the water pressure in the shower and bathtub was very weak, especially at night. The temperature in the waiting areas and the main corridor between rooms was uncomfortably hot, and the lighting throughout the hotel seemed faulty and dim.
One particularly annoying experience was waiting for over an hour on the beach for service buggy to take me back to the hotel. On another occasion, I spent three hours relaxing on the marina sundeck, only to find my slippers disappeared when I left.
The Wi-Fi network was relatively okay, but one night, it wasn’t working at all.
To their credit, the staff did try to make things right by changing my room, and I appreciated their effort to please guests. But overall, for a place that claims to offer luxury for the expensive prices , the experience was disappointing and fell far below expectations.
We ate at the restaurants several times - Chef Mr Murat is seriously talented. His sea bream, lobster spaghetti, tiramisu and white chocolate soup were incredible. You can tell all the recipes are carefully selected and thoughtfully prepared.
The staff made our holiday though. Mr Tekin and others (Tayfur, Esma, Akin, Mutlu) in the restaurants were absolutely lovely. Front desk sorted everything out smoothly.
Husna, Irem and Ceren at the Kids Club were so friendly and fun.
Quite different from last year, and unfortunately much less enjoyable. All the chefs and head waitresses at the restaurants have changed. Food quality and service at Olives, Rossa and Barbarossa have been very poor this year. Beach service has also declined noticeably. There's a huge gap between the high restaurant prices and the actual service level, which feels unjustified. However, Mammadrau restaurant's food quality and service remain excellent. Most staff work very hard, but the service lacks consistency and seems to be missing effective systems. The breakfast buffet, toilets and showers are full of flies - it's really unpleasant. That said, the general manager and senior management are clearly working hard to address these issues and have been very responsive to guest feedback. I'm confident their commitment will resolve these problems soon.
2024 - 5 stars:
From the moment we arrived, the exceptional service and warm hospitality made us feel right at home, thanks to “Ladies in Red” team.
Our reservation process was seamless, thanks to Pinar Arslan, the reservation manager. Sude Nur, the breakfast coordinator, was always cheerful with her enchanting smile and made sure our mornings started off perfectly. Hakan, who provided thrilling buggy rides around the resort added a unique touch to our vacation with his positive energy.
We were also impressed with the amazing service from Mustafa Biliceli and Semah, the senior waiters. Olgun, Burak, Arda, Irina and Aiperi are all outstanding service members.
The restaurants, with the exception of Olives, were fantastic, offering a wide range of delectable dishes. While the quality of the food at Villa Rossa Restaurant and Olives Restaurant differs significantly, their prices are almost the same. The food and service quality at Olives Restaurant, as well as the outdoor furniture, could benefit from some enhancements.
Other luxury Turkish hotels offer a superior breakfast selection, particularly in terms of cheese, jams, pastrami, and more. For instance, there were only three types of jams available, and a small cheese room would greatly enhance the experience. But, these aspects didn’t detract from our overall enjoyment.
Additionally, the accessibility / walkability for disabled individuals and pushchair users could be enhanced throughout the hotel. The brand of Kempinski should take this seriously. Furthermore, the bar / service on the Sundeck should be open for operation, it deserves more attention. Having waiters travel to the pool bar to serve drinks at the Sundeck is neither sustainable nor efficient. They work under challenging conditions, especially given the hot weather.
I must add that the beach is brilliant, with crystal-clear waters and a serene atmosphere. Overall, we highly recommend Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay. We will return here for our holiday again.
The staff are kind and genuinely trying their best; however, they are clearly overwhelmed due to the high number of guests and insufficient staffing. This shortage is affecting the quality of service.
Management should urgently address this issue to ensure the level of service meets the expectations of a luxury resort.
Given the current level of service, the hotel feels overpriced especially in the spa area
Exceptional Support from the IT Manager
From day one of our check-in, I realized I had forgotten my wife’s laptop charger at home. The IT Manager went above and beyond to assist us. After trying every possible solution, he generously left us his personal laptop charger.
Thumbs up to him he is a true role model of hospitality.
Deniz, Halil, Mevlut, and the rest of your team are amazing and truly professional
Regarding Last Night’s Challenge
Last night, I faced an issue where the ATM machine rejected my card for an unknown reason. However, the CCM accepted it, and I was in urgent need of cash as I was heading out of the hotel.
Unfortunately, the front desk strictly refused to process my card through the CCM and provide me with a cash amount. While I understand that rules must be followed, certain exceptions should be considered in urgent situations especially when your team was already informed of the ATM issue and witnessed the card being rejected.
For reference, I even tested the CCM by processing 50 lira, which was successfully debited and left in my account.
In hospitality, small gestures make a big difference. This could have been one of them.
Today’s Experience at the Beachside
The service was extremely poor today. I ended up serving myself
cleaning my own table and picking up my own food and drinks.
Management seriously needs to allocate more staff based on occupancy levels; otherwise, they risk damaging the hotel’s reputation.
As for the food, the pizza arrived badly burnt completely inedible. I also ordered an extra portion of French fries, which took nearly 20 minutes to arrive.
Salon side
The hairdresser arrived smelling of cigarettes and proceeded to touch my daughter’s hair without washing his hands. This made me uncomfortable, and I had to firmly ask him to wash his hands first.
The dinner at olives on the 8th was perfect from all aspects, special thanks for Yusuf

Not very easy to move around with the baby stroller, a lot of stairs and lifts etc.
Off season a lot of food places are closed and there is no entertainment. Shortage of staff. Seems like hotel management failed to plan well for the number of guests - but how is it possible if rooms are booked in advance?
The restaurants which were open had great food options.
Beach is fantastic.
Overall I would recommend the stay here but would suggest that the team pays more attention to the off season period.
I wanted to take the opportunity to share our thoughts on our wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. The management and staff are wonderful and the hotel is very special. I had an unfortunate accident while there (fractured foot) and I could not have asked for better care and concern. They arranged hospital visit and helped in every way possible. The next day they delivered flowers and sweets to our room. Such a beautiful gesture.
The beach and amenities are wonderful as well as the culinary offerings. I would like future guests to know what wonderful hands they will be in at Kempinski Barboros Bay.
