Katelya Hotel

One of the things that sets this hotel apart is the helpfulness, kindness, and professionalism of the staff. Everyone from the manager to the kitchen and cleaning crew were welcoming and warm to my children.

We reserved the family room which is in the building across the tiny street from the main hotel. It’s a mini-apartment and had ample space for my family of five (3 kids). It has a full bath with shower. It also had a medium sized refrigerator, plates, cups, and a table so we could store food and water which helps save money on eating out. It has a small balcony.

The desk is staffed late which accommodated our family’s late arrival. They all spoke English. Again, they were exceedingly kind and friendly to my family.

The breakfast buffet is excellent. I highly recommend you include it when you reserve a room to avoid the more expensive dining options in this area.

The open top floor of the hotel gives you a wonderful panoramic view of the Sea of Marmara. It’s open 24/7.

There are dozens of restaurants within five minutes walk and less. There is a small grocery store a block away.

If we return to Istanbul we will stay here!

We stayed in this hotel for 4 days. All the staff are super kind. Beautiful and super clean rooms. Every day we were cleaned and changed towels. Typical local breakfast. Hotel located in a very strategic area, zero chaos and very close to the Blue Mosque. Nearby metro, tram and in any case super comfortable even turning everything on foot. It's recommended.

I used the hotel terrace to propose to my girlfriend. I made the marriage proposal at sunset with a calm and magnificent view of Istanbul. The hotel staff helped me with all my requests from the beginning to all stages. I also had the opportunity to take a look at the hotel during this organization. The rooms were spacious, functional and very clean. If you happen to be here, they will be happy to help you with small surprises. For those looking for a clean and affordable hotel with a sea view in the center of Istanbul, this hotel awaits you with its smiling staff.

We discovered the wonderful city of Istanbul last year, in april. Since then, we have visited it 3 times. Three times, even if you stay 3-4 days, definetely are'nt enough to visit the places full of history, to get acquainted with the wonderful culture and customs of the Turkish people. This time (august 7-11, 2024) we chose the Katelya hotel. The hotel is very well positioned, it is very close (5-15 minutes of slow walking) to the Sultan Ahmet Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern and the Topkapi Palace. The hotel has nice, comfortable rooms with small kitchenettes. On the roof, the hotel has a terrace with an amazing view of the city and the Sea of ​​Marmara. The staff is extremely kind and welcoming. I would especially like to mention the receptionists Ferhat, Yunus and the manager Malik. They speak english very well, they help you with any question, at any time of day or night. Also, i would like to thank the hotel maids, who kept the rooms perfectly clean. As i wrote above, we will return to Istanbul many more times and every time we will book our rooms at this hotel.

This hotel is the perfect match in the heart of Istanbul, only 5 minutes away from the Blue Mosque.
It is a small, calm, and tidy place to stay in the city centre, with a great breakfast as well.
Manager Yusun made us feel truly welcome, not just like tourists. He had recommendations for us for coming around and answered all of our questions about city and life. That is so much more than smalltalk and service as it is usual. We are thankful for that kindness and hospitality.
The rooms are super tidy (thank you so much, dear people from room service!) and have a nice interior.
There is also a rooftop terrace with lounge furniture, plants, and shadow, where you have an excellent view of the sea and the asian side of Istanbul.
Highly recommended, we would come back here any time as well.

We stayed at the Katelya hotel for 7 nights. We had two rooms right across from each other. Both rooms were small (which is typical in Europe), but had everything we needed. Cleanliness is of utmost importance to me and so I take my disinfecting wipes to every hotel I stay at, and when I first entered the room and wiped my surroundings my disinfecting wipes stayed clean....not a spec of dirt. The staff are helpful, friendly, and always available. The breakfast buffet is clean, with a variety of wholesome choices and is regularly stocked. Location is close to everything (about a 7 to 8 minute walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Tram, Topkapi, etc.) There is a little bit of an uphill walk to get to these things, so you do have to be in good physical shape. There are a lot of restaurants in the area, but these restaurants are over-priced and the food isn't as good as restaurants further into the city along the Tram line. Overall, good location, excellent service, clean, wonderful employees and we will stay at Katelya again, as well as recommend it to our friends and family.

Nice hotel, perfectly located, very friendly people, made us feel 'at home'.Nazli was always there to suggest and help ,with whatever we asked for.We will certainly visit again!

Cute hotel and provide basic amenities. Even they have only 2floors, they have elevator. The location is close the main tourist attractions. The staffs are fluent in english n very helpfull. Dont miss their rooftop. You can enjoy sunset n sunrise there. Best view on sunrise.

Best hotel in Sultan Ahmet area, the rooms are clean, location is perfect, breakfast you could compare it to 5 star hotels.

Greatest place in Istanbul to stay, rooms are comfy, location is great, breakfast is second to none, and the staff is awesome led by Miss Nazley the best to meet at any hotel in the world who is smiley, and helpful. Don't hesitate to visit this hotel whenever you come to Istanbul.
