Villa Hotel Tamara

We stayed at Villa Hotel Tamara for 3 nights. Based on the rave reviews and price we paid, we had high expectations. Upon walking into our room, the smell of sewerage was unbearable, we noticed rubbish in the bathroom bin and general uncleanliness. We notified hotel staff to which a cleaner came however we were told the sewerage smell was a “common problem”. After requesting a room change, the hotel manager informed us there were no same rooms available, he seamed completely unfazed and offered no solution. After going back and forth, we were offered an “upgrade” and started carrying all our luggage across. We were speechless once we arrived. The room was completely run down and filthy. The aircon didn’t work, the wooden bed frame was rotting and fell apart when we attempted to move to use a power outlet, no wifi, the bathroom had leaking water stains on the ceiling, curtain rail didn’t go across the windows so the curtains came off the railing completely. After spending a night in this mosquito ridden, hostel room we let the hotel staff know we refuse to stay in this room. They gave us our original booked room on a different level. Another move, lugging our bags back in the heat and up flights of stairs. The rooms sewerage smell was disguised with bleached but still very prominent, there was dust everywhere, hair on the ground, dirty cups. Just absolutely filth, we walked around in the hotel slippers provided the entire stay as the floors were disgusting, the hotel slippers were black by the end of our stay. Aside from the room issues, the staff were rude and ridiculously slow. We had asked for towels at midday and got a knock on the door from house keeping at 10:30pm which woke our 2 year old daughter. If you like breathing poo, this is the place for you.

Just got engaged and wanted to treat our selves to a get away. We booked this hotel based off the pictures and the online reviews. When we got there our bus could not get down the steep drive way. We walked through the heat to the reception and his only resolution was to pay for a cab to bring down our bags. We had to pay the cab driver 800tl! It was down hill from there, our room smelt like a sewerage, towels were dirty from previous customer and our toilet completely broken in half. The receptionist was not helpful at all and often laughed when we told him about an issue. When we asked for the owners phone number he refused to give and said he was the owner. Luckily, the bar staff were amazing and wanted to organise compensation for our stay. They organised a beautiful room ( was still not clean) and provided us with wine to celebrate. This hotel can be saved if they get rid of the receptionist….

We booked this trip a few months ago after doing some research and this is the hotel we booked. After staying here for 3 nights I can admit that this was the worst hotel experience of my life. The guy at reception named Eray was really disrespectful and not understanding at all. Our rooms were not well maintained and were filthy (hair all over the floors and beds, nail clippings on the bedside table, old chewing gum stuck on the window, rooms smelling like sewerage water). Just an absolutely awful experience. The only positive from the hotel was the bar staff helping us out to compensate the trouble we went through continuously changing rooms. The dirtiest hotel I have ever been to.

Great views and huge potential but falls short in a lot of hours areas for the price.
We were cheated out of our reservation and given a lesser room next to the laundry facility. Unapologetic and unaccommodating. Food was mediocre. Wait staff very hard working.
There are far better hotels in the same area. Would not recommend this place and will not be going back. ☹️
