Reviews
The place is so old and rundown that it might actually be haunted. The room had a funky smell, which was mildly annoying. The couch was severely stained, which was disgusting. The bathroom fan would intermittently become octaves louder than normal. After turning off the lights, one of them turned back on by itself and started flickering. It was weird, but after a long day of driving, one tends to overlook things in pursuit of sleep.
A few hours later, at around 4 in the morning, I was abruptly awoken by the radio, which had started screeching and buzzing loudly on its own. It was really upsetting—and unsettling—how no matter what buttons I pressed, it just wouldn't turn off. The last thing a person needs while on vacation is to have their sleep disturbed, least of all by some creepy, possibly demonic/possessed radio.
Feeling incredibly unnerved, I no longer wanted to stay in this hotel. But at 4 in the morning, where was I supposed to go? So I went down to request a room change. The front desk agent was polite but hesitant to switch rooms. It turned out this was because he couldn't keep track of his rooms and guests and mistakenly thought I had already changed rooms once before. (Apparently, another guest had issues with their shower, so I guess my room wasn’t the only one with problems.)
If this had been some rundown motel at $50 a night, maybe this level of quality would have been expected. Honestly, even that might have been a better experience than this. At a price point of $200+ per night, it's reasonable to expect better. The quality I received makes this feel like an absolute scam. I'm never staying at this Hyatt again, and I’ll seriously reconsider whether I ever want to stay at a Hyatt in the future.
I will say it is the perfect price to pay for a night or two out on the strip. Convenient travel to MGM and the south side of Las Vegas Blvd.
There are multiple cannabis shops, food, coffee and liquors stores all within walking distance.
It was also a bummer this properties new management has opted to start charging for parking which doesn’t include security. My recommendation is not to leave things visible in your vehicle overnight. It’s definitely the edge of the strip and there is lots of foot traffic.
