Fort Lauderdale Marriott Resort and Spa

The fact that the hotel is under major renovation was only communicated after I booked the hotel. Watch out for resort fees- those were not clear either.

I book through Expida after I book none refundable U sent me email hotel under construction but will be finished but my date was false hotel was month’s away from completion not Expida nor Marriot cares u just want to book I went for vacation no pool got charged on beah for n umbrellas wich if pool was in operation could have sat under free umbrellas I mean really be onist w customers before booking tell them your under construction!!

when i book my reservation the pool was supposedly going to be ready on march 10 and when I arrive at the hotel on april 1st surprise the pool wont be ready for another month,and when the say ocean view its a view of the side of the hotel I call false advertise.
People working in there extremely nice and friendly they deserve a lot.

This resort should be avoided until the construction is done. They are not too upfront other than the pool and spa are closed. Everything at the resort is closed. There is no seating area outside of the rooms. The restaurant isn't a restaurant it looks like a meeting room converted into a dining room with extremely overpriced food. $25+ for a Continental Breakfast is ridiculous when what they serve is included at most Super 8's. The beach is nice but, beware if you are in a chair at 5pm the beach service guy will be rude and force you out of a chair immediately. One day when we were here there were no beach towels. Why pay a resort fee when the stuff we are paying for is not available. On top of all of this is the forced Valet for $30+ a day. I am not one to like using valet because we like to have access to our car right away and also I don't want to feel pressured to tip for a forced service. I'm very disappointed in this Marriot. The level of service, amenities and comfort should be better when you are at a resort.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL IN 2025

I am not usually complaining about much, I travel a lot for work and leisure. Since January 2025 I am already at 60 nights with Marriott Bonvoy hotel brands... My comfort zone is great I do camping, I stay sometimes shared room hostel and quite often at more premium properties like JW Marriott ans the Ritz Carlton.

This hotel is under MAJOR renovations. - - NO POOL
- Construction noise wakes you up early
- Restaurant and bar is in a creepy windows placarded Hallway (to hide the construction)

I find it hard to believe that no where on the Marriott Bonvoy App they mention ahead the construction while booking AND they charge full price + Resort fees for an unusable "Resort"

Don't blame it on the staff, they are great. I think they have it harder than the guests in this situation since management chose to mislead their guests into paying full price.

For my fellow Bonvoys Elite members. They truly don't give a flying F*** about your loyalty and status on this property. They lack the flexibilty of offering the benefits of your status. They charged me 75$ to extend 1hr the checkout time...

The good point is the Sun and the Beach (If your wear your headphones with music loud enough to cancel the jackhammers noises).. Oh wait.. the beach and the sun are the same at neighboring Hotels on the strip.

Don't be affraid to go for an off brand hotel as this Marriott is not up to the brand standards with all the inconveniences

I understand this "Business Move" of the management to limit loss of revenues during construction but this is not fair for hard working paying guests looking enjoy their holidays.
