Governors Inn Hotel Sacramento

Old room, door handles wonky and makes you wonder if they work reliably. Sink water faucet handles separated from counter. Very old not kept up and one of the few times I felt like I had to search around to make sure I didn't see any bed bugs. Everything was dilapidated and the walls were paper thin and I spent most of the night listening to people talking or playing their TV or slamming doors. Bad experience to the point that I didn't even bother bring it to their attention because there's no chance it wasn't already something they knew. The continental breakfast I was promised was a couple bars from a box of stuff bought at Costco (I know this because it was the Kirkland brand). This breakfast so to speak was just standing on the counter across from the front desk. Along with some coffee that I didn't decide to risk trying. There's a level of dilapidation that was remarkable. The staff was polite there's no complaints with the people I had no real interaction with other guests but everything about my experience was this was a one-star hotel and I'm only giving it two stars here because the location is convenient to the highway. I would have given a better / higher review if the price had been commensurate with the quality but in fact it was as expensive as other hotels I know to be higher quality. Avoid avoid avoid.
