Hilton Sacramento Arden West

I was already hesitant to stay at a Hilton property given that I prefer Marriott, but I still have status with Hilton. Welcoming staff was great. That wasn't the problem.

The biggest things for me were the cleanliness (PLEASE see the pictures I attached) and that the rooms do not look like they were maintained. I felt so gross walking on the floor barefoot given the cleanliness of the room as depicted in the photos. Also, the rod that is used to open the curtains was missing, and the window was so small, barely any natural light got in. The lighting was so bad I couldn't see anything in the shower, could barely see anything in the mirrors while doing makeup, and had a hard time working from my room, which makes me unwilling to stay here again as my position is a lot of travel and work from home. Please see the pictures I attached to see just how dark it was.

Multiple times I was also woken up by a scary, very loud sound. I'm unsure what it was attributed to but it sounded like a jackhammer or some type of power tool. I also heard a woman loudly screaming for literally NO reason.

Additionally, the restaurant in the hotel and bar was very slow. I spent well over 15 minutes waiting for the bartender to show up to take an order and someone who I believe was a manager (blue button up shirt on 12/10 or 12/11 night shift) came around slowly walking around greeting tables but ignoring myself and a few others who came down. After waiting probably 45 minutes to an hour for my food, it finally came. I ordered the creme brulee, the chicken marsala, and a glass of wine.

I also put the bag with my leftovers from the hotel bar in the hallway and both mornings when I left it was still there, despite seeing a housekeeping staff member down the hall from me.

I am overall disappointed in this stay and would not recommend anyone else to stay here.

Be weary if you will need a rollaway bed. Website says rollaway can be provide, however upon checkin, was told about their 2 bed per room policy. Found crumbs on bed. Found hair clump on shower curtain. Gym has few cardio machine, 2 pair of cables, and free weight up to 45.

My wife stayed at this hotel for 10 days on her business trip and her thermostat didn't work the entire time and she could never get anyone to fix it and the cleaning ladies would only come when she was in the room after a long day and would never clean when she was at work even after she asked them to and it has shity water pressure. It might be an ok hotel but I wouldn't recommend this hotel for business trips if u had to stay more than a couple nights.

Best part about this hotel is the service, the front desk and everyone I interacted with were very helpful and friendly l. The rooms were very old and stain filled and has terrible smell in the hall ways. I was on the top floor and was really disappointed.

Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a nice Hilton. It’s neighbors are a vacant office building, a car junkyard and an extremely noisy freeway. The rooms that face the freeway might as well not have windows they’re so drafty and LOUD. Speaking of the rooms, they’re old and the hotel is even older. If there was a renovation, it had to be over 20 years ago. The only reason I chose this place was its proximity to where I was working. Each time I’ve stayed here previously, there has been a problem with the room. From the thermostat, to the bed that basically sagged to the floor when I sat on it, to the toilet that wouldn’t stop running unless I lifted the tank lid and made sure the flap closed. It’s always something. And don’t even try to plug in anything to an electrical outlet, they’re so loose that no plug will stay in.

On the most recent stay, I repeatedly asked for my room to be serviced, yet every day when I came back to the room after work, nothing had been done. At least on previous stays the staff was competent and considerate enough to have it repaired or change my room. This time, there is no such courtesy to get the room serviced. In fact, they never asked if the “every 4th day” service would be okay, just assumed I would be happy receiving only a fraction of the service I’m paying for. They said that “notes have been made” and “I see the notes in the system but the cleaning staff has already left for the day”. Basically a giant nothing-burger excuse. They had to send someone up to take out the trash and give me fresh towels after I informed them of the room not being serviced but even that took 30 minutes.

With so many other hotels in the same price range in the area, I will gladly sacrifice commute time to avoid this hotel in the future.

This was one of the worst places I ever stayed. They charge $11 for parking, bathroom door is a slider that doesn't close all the way. 1 set of towels for 2 people. Need to use your room key for lights and elevator. Order room service and it came in boxes with no plates or napkins and way over priced. Also, they automatically add a tip to our bill without notice at 25%. The food was fair at best
