A perfectly charming hotel in the heart of Santa Fe! The staff was very attentive and accommodating. We enjoyed being able to walk to most of the sites, shops, and restaurants in the downtown/plaza area. The rooms were very large and comfortably appointed, however, it’s probably a little overdue for an update to the bathroom and vanity area. A special shout out to Jessica, the guest experience manager- she was truly phenomenal! We wanted for nothing used her care.

The room was not worth the price. The carpet holds many smells that despite the amount of cleaning it likely receives between bookings, it gives off a strong musty smell every time you enter the room. Our room was much darker and well-worn than the online pictures portrayed. The balcony was dirty and uninviting. The bathroom was severely outdated and the television very tiny. There are no amenities, such as pool or breakfast, to qualify the price being so high. The only positive was location, but for only $65 more per night we could have stayed at La Fonda and I wish we would have.
Also, We were charged a $97 resort fee that per their online description included “Business center/computer access, Fitness center access, In-room bottled water, In-room coffee, In-room safe, Parking, Phone calls, Self parking.”
We notified the hotel ahead of check-in that we did not need parking, but this did not change our fee. We were provided only 2 small bottles of water one time upon check-in. We were never made aware of the fitness center access or location. On the phone, the hotel said the fitness was available at their sister location, which is 70 miles away. And for a hotel to state that phone calls are considered an amenity, and to charge extra for this, is outdated and absurd. So basically we paid $97 for two bottles of water.

Really enjoyed our time at Chimayo in Santa Fe! I didn’t really feel like I was in a hotel but maybe in my own adobe. It was a nice change of pace. The rooms are super cozy, as is the atmosphere outside. There is parking under the hotel but get there early or all the spaces are taken. They also have an old Impala you can tour town in, so we did! We loved it! My only complaint is there is central air/heat, so the hotel controls the temps and you can’t change it in your room. While we were there, they turned the heat on and it was still 70/80 in the day and 50 at night. They even offered to come light our fire. It’s not even cold! So if you’re like me and still like the air pumping so you can be snuggly in bed, this hotel is not for you. We had to open all three windows at night to get air flowing, and the windows don’t stay up and they are blocked by curtains, so it was a struggle. You can call for a fan, too, which we did. Needless to say, I was hot at night, and that doesn’t make for great sleeping! But the bed is cozy and the room inviting. I would definitely stay here again but I’d need to know the AC would be on the whole stay of my visit!

We had such a nice stay here! The staff were incredible, and the room and location were perfect. We only stayed one night while passing through Santa Fe but we are already planning a return trip to stay longer. Highly recommend!

The staff was awesome! I had left my wallet at home and was very worried that there would be complications getting into our room. It was a complete nothing-burger. The Suite we had was very clean and roomy. the balcony was great. Thanks for a very memorable time in Santa Fe. The Impala on their home page was in the parking garage. Very cool.

The charming Hotel Chimayo is located near Plaza Santa Fe. Although my stay was during a pandemic, it was a great relief to know that the rooms were thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and labeled with stickers on the door seals that ensured this. The staff were great and very helpful. Although most places are closed, I was recommended places to walk and see. I also like this location because it was a quick transition to the road leading to Ski Santa Fe. I'm also from New Mexico and have been to Santa Fe many times, but this visit was the most memorable. If you're looking for a great vacation... stay at Hotel Chimayo! You will not regret it.

Be careful about booking this hotel. Watch your bill carefully. I booked a junior suite for my nephew for his honeymoon and they were happy to take my credit card information. They asked him for his card for incidentals. At check out they made him pay for the rooms instead of charging my card because he swiped his card which they said caused my card to fall out of the system. They would not reverse and were very biligerent on the phone. Be careful what you think you are getting at this hotel.

Great hotel for fitting into the general Santa Fe theme. Adobe, ristras, and tile everywhere. Bathrooms are small and old-fashioned, but wouldn't fit into the theme otherwise.
