Best Western Savannah Historic District

This Best Western has an awesome location but in terms of cleanliness it is not up to par. My room looked like it was not vacuumed in days. The carpet was dirty. I did not feel comfortable in the room that had a smell, the building is old so I guess it needs renovation.

Had issue with noise from next door. It was handled immediately and next door people were moved. Very impressed with the gentleman that handled it however during the night i needed tums and when i turned the lites on there were several roaches. The room looked very clean but i will never stay there again. We had open chips and the roaches werein there.

There is construction going on fifteen feet from the hotel starting at 6:45 in the morning lasting until 7 in the evening. It was the most nerve racking experience of my life. Coupled with the fact that they did not clean my room and blamed me saying I left a do not disturb sign on my door until noon. I told them I was out of the room by 10 am because of the noise and did not return until 5. If I left a do not disturb sign on the door why would I complain about my room not being cleaned? The front desk and concierge person were great.
I left a day early.

DO NOT try and check in early ( even 1 hr ), no matter how long or far your journey to this place has been. You may get the worst room they have, after all, they think you should be happy with whatever they give you, they are doing you a huge favor. Sit in your car until 4:00 PM. check in. Be prepared to WAIT to check in on time. If you are a gold rewards member, realize it gets you ONLY points you can use at another date. Be prepared for a clean but very small room, with no microwave, a fridge in the bathroom, vending machines out of order, $22.00 parking for 1 night, nowhere near your room. 1 luggage trolley for the entire hotel, a wait staff that is UNDER staffed and the possibility of a construction site and an array of portable toilets as you view of Savannah! You can complain about the view, the manager will simply say "he can't help you". Check out the Hilton Garden across the street or the Quality in next door. I am NOT dissuaded from Best Western hotels/motels. For years they have been my first choice for overnight accommodations. They shall remain so. However, if no one speaks up about this particular establishment, they will continue this level of "provision" or, allow it to further decline.
