Hotel Best Andorra Center

The only good thing about this hotel was breakfast. Rooms are old and without windows. I would never stay again in this hotel.

Fortunately we only spent one night because the first room had a cigarette smell that was impossible to breathe. I was able to change rooms, the second had hair in the sink and the bathtub and hair on the floor with a slight smell. retirement home. Unappetizing breakfast.

The installation is decaying... Details are lacking, and service is "adequate"... We chose it as it is central and rated 4 stars... The location is great. We chose to park in the huge Public carpark for a reasonable flat rate, only 50 meters from the hotel.

All in all we were very disappointed.

The Old fashioned decor we could live with, lots of tiles and mirrors and chrome. Very retro..

The room itself fulfilled the basic expected requirements.

However...

A lift that ignores the up button and only recognises the down button was symptomatic of our stay. And lifts for a hotel so big means you will wait, a lot...

The swimming pool has a filthy glass ceiling covered in white streaks, with rusty support beams. If you want a glass roof for people to look out, in a 4 star hotel I would expect it to be clean enough to look through. The shower for the pool was even missing the button to turn it on, just the screw was available to press. and the Turkish baths were broken. The pool area itself is quite nice... Just needs to tlc.

Our room was an oven. Facing the sun in summer the air conditioning was severely underpowered and made no difference to the room. When the outside temperature was hot in the shade, inside was the same temperature, even with the air conditioning blowing at 18c for HOURS. It never dropped below 26c in the room. The ac would turn on and off randomly. The gusts of air coming out of it were as feeble as the dying breaths of a heavy smoker... it made plenty of noise, but little cold wind. The only difference it made was psychological. We reported it three times to reception. They sent someone to stare at it morosely and disappear off without doing anything... Twice. On the third occasion I was basically told to shut up and put up. When I asked for a room change it was denied, and I was told that the Aircon was working fine...

There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom, the containers were present but emptied a long time ago and never refilled. To compensate someone left us multiple containers of body cream... Not great for washing with. The towel rail fell off the wall as the screws were broken, and not recently.

The toilet was so close to the radiator it was physically impossible to sit on it without contortions worthy of a circus acrobat.

The bed sheet were too small for the bed, and couldn't be tucked in, which meant I woke up every morning directly on the mattress. Hardly hygienic.

Don't look under the beds. The maid didn't either, so you shouldn't.

Like I said, lots of small annoying things that just added up to a very disappointing stay.

The breakfast was nice, as were lunch and supper. The restaurant had a good selection. And drinka were included. You could use thimble size glasses on the sole water machine to get a sip at a time. You could order whatever you wanted from the waiters.. if you could spot one. I have seen more Yetis and unicorns than I saw waiters in the restaurant once I had been seated. My best advice is to order as many drinks as you can when you sit down, as that is the moment you will spot one. Or get used to flapping arms enough to land a plane and hope one spots you ..

To be fair, most of the staff I dealt with were friendly and pleasant, when I could eventually get their attention.

With a little tender care and attention the hotel would be great. But as it is, we won't come back again.
