Absolutely amazing hotel which is band in the middle of Boulevard Republika . Everything is walkable and the amenities and ambiance in the hotel is second to none . Must consider for a stay in Berat.

5 star hotel at a 3 star level.. No one carries luggage, everything is self-service, the spa is supposedly under renovation and the hotel pool is an additional charge.. We loved our room at Hotel Colombo. It was spacious. The hotel is viewable from most of the city areas. We were sad that the spa wasn’t open during the month we were there but we would visit again! The staff were lovely!

The hotel is great! The commodities are really nice and the staff is super helpful! There is just a few parking spots, so make sure you reserve them in advance. The hotel stays in a walking distance from the city center (10min). Breakfast was really good with a lot of options!

It was perfect, couldn't wish for anything more. The people of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We were a bit early but had luck because our room was already free. As a bonus they brought us some fresh fruit which was leftover from breakfast. The room was big enough, a lovely rain shower and a powerful air-conditioning. Breakfast was really nice as well. It’s one of many citadels on the hill surrounded by walls, typical to this region. The walks and sights are really nice, but apart from a few small churches (most are closed) and a lovely icon museum there’s not much to see here. I am not sure sure if all this is worth the rather steep climb - I’d say yes, but if the weather is good, in the morning or in the evening :)

Very nice and large castle. It takes more or less 2h to visit all the spots. The entrance was free and the restaurants inside are not overpriced. Inside there are some horses for tourist walk but please avoid.. To arrive there you have to walk 20 minutes from Berat on a steep road under the sun so just remember to bring a bottle of water.

It’s a free tour, which is already amazing! I highly recommend to go around 5-7pm, when the sun goes down and you can enjoy a nice sunset! Plus the hike up there, it’s pretty steep so if you do it under the heat, it’s tough! You can also go with the free local guided tour, they go up with you, walk you around the castle and show you a lot of spots: the mosque, the churches, the viewpoint and explain...

Great experience no tickets needed it’s free. Well preserved castle so much history. Great views of the city from the castle. You can drive all the way to the top plenty of parking just be careful the streets are narrow.

We drove over an hour specifically for this place and it did not disappoint us. Beautiful site. Habitable ancient castle with narrow streets. Occupies top of the hill with strategic views on surroundings. Cozy inside. Below is an ancient village worth visiting too.

I spent 1 night here , I was on an Explore tour. The views from this hotel are fantastic, I was on the 4th floor and had a great view from my bedroom. We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights during a recent visit. Well located in the centre of town and walking distance from most places. Friendly check in and large modern room with great view of the surrounding hills and river. Buffet breakfast on the top floor was good, with excellent views. Highly recommended!

Everything about our stay here was excellent. We arrived late in the evening but Mateo on the front desk made sure we got a parking space across the street (we enquired about this when booking, so that may have helped). The rooms (incl bathroom) are clean, modern and spacious, the bed really comfy and all the staff very nice, friendly and helpful (with good English, which isn’t always the case in Albania...

Great location and definitely the value for the price. The staff are very friendly and view from the restaurant and also the room (booked a view room) is stunning. In general it is difficult to get any vegan options in the country at any hotels such as oat milk etc. also espresso is extra cost at breakfast (this was the same everywhere in the country too). Overall a superb hotel!

For Albanian standards it is an even luxurious hotel, for Italian ones there would be some little things to improve, for example the shower without a door which floods the whole bathroom, the poor lighting, the poor breakfast (in terms of quality, not in quantity) but in short, for short stays it is more than fine, thanks also to the very efficient staff and the excellent location.

we were pretty happy with our assigned room, except that we had to walk 3 flights of stairs to get to it. There was no kettle but we were given one when we requested. This is an excellently located guesthouse right in the heart of old town. A short walk to the castle (big hill climb), a short walk to lots of lovely restaurants and bars. The accommodation is basic, but perfectly comfortable and safe. The owner was extremely helpful and parked our hire car for us. The breakfast was also excellent. Very nice place. Room was beautiful and the bed had a great firm mattress. Very conveniently located in the city center, you can walk everywhere. Small stores and Cafés just around the corner. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good, only the coffee was cold when it came to the table :D

This is a truly beautiful hotel with outstanding service and location. I had a cheaper room without a view but even this was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. The building is an historic landmark in its own right (check out the carved wooden ceilings) but its restaurant verandah offer the perfect spot to soak in Berat’s Ottoman homes.

Nice and clean, but the total package is limited mostly by the lack of sophistication now in all of Albania beyond Tirana. I guess we can thank Enders Hoxha who managed to take this poor country and it’s people back to the 18th century during the Cold War when he thought it was cool to emulate N Korea and China with closed borders. It's really nice and close to the main road so you don't loose time. The menu is ok, great and fast service! Also there is a parking lot in the entrance!

Extra welcome for Italians. The manager Pieter lived in Italy for 15 years and with us he also became an accompanying guide to visit the castle of Berat. Hearty and à la carte breakfast.

You can’t drive up to Hotel Gorica. You need to park in the public car park next to the bridge 2-3 mins walk from the hotel. Once we’d done that, check in was done remotely - very easy. We stayed in Room 8, one of the two attic rooms which are significantly cheaper than the other rooms. It was okay for a night but it’s difficult to avoid banging your head on the ceiling! This is an hotel with a local historical touch. It is really such a great experience to be in this hotel in a traditional home with an local and historical architecture . The hotel is very centrally located right on the Boulevard and has many restaurants and cafe in the surrounding. The check in was very quick and hassle free. The service of all the office staff throughout our stay was outstanding. The rooms are spacious, well lit and airy. The linen was good quality and the breakfast was delicious and good variety. Located at the start of the steep street up to the castle, this family run place is super welcoming and helpful. Rooms are modern but the one we were in (# 111) was smallish. Fantastic place with good communication. We were messaged the moment we arrived into Tirana, asking for our estimated time of arrival. Reception then text us on route making sure all was ok and if we needed directions then to let her know, we arrived safely. Parking is a little tight, but they make it work. This was an absolutely delightful find in the city of Ohrid. It was lovely to have a private balcony that had an amazing view of the city for our late night snack. The staff were extremely helpful and hospitable. Oh and the breakfast was AMAZING!

This place is amazing. I think it would be hard to find a hotel with better views. The room was clean, and exactly as advertised. The staff was very friendly, and they do speak English, Italian, German, and Shqip. I dont understand where these negative reviews come from, we had a great conversation with owners and they were very welcoming girls and open minded,they helped me for everything i asked.they also have their winery and the wines that we tried were amazing.

The hotel is ok, too gaudy for my taste but clean and with easy access (you come in through the gas station US roadside model style). The room was big, clean and seemed well maintained though sparsely decorated, great contest with the common areas that are filled with gold details and kitsch decor.
