Family Hotel Hebar

I have waited a week before writing this review to not only let my anger speak and collect myself before reviewing the stay at „Family Hotel Spa Hebar“
Starting of with the nice things the hotel looks exactly as on the pictures, is well maintained and the rooms very nice furnitured. Personal highlight was the cook - who was the kindest service worker at the whole complex and whatever came from the grill was very tasty and also omelette for breakfast has been very delicious.
Nonetheless it could not balance out the shock of the rest. Upon arrival we got no welcome from the reception worker, who seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else. You felt like you insulted them for booking a stay there. Highly confused from this rudeness she did not really answered all our questions and no „You’re welcome“ „please“ or „thank you“ seemed not to be of her vocabulary.
Considering the fact that that one single lady had to work reception, restaurant and SPA you can only assume the bad hotel management which leaves one person to all this responsibility.
The so called „SPA“ was actually very nice designed but in the same area was a fitness tool and a jacuzzi (which was broken for the whole time of our stay and nobody put effort to fix it). You had to announce if you wanted to use the sauna so they turn it on for you. Further we had several discussions about opening times of sauna even though we were told there is no limit. Along the hallway where dozens of laundry bags for a few days nobody took care of. Feels like that the whole hotel is about laundry…. and getting your money for absolut no service and effort.

On the other hand it was very empty and silent. We barely met other guests for four days. At some point we met some people but still it felt like a long lost place. There was no family character at all. All across the compound nice sitting areas where created, which nobody ever used. Like a ghost place. The only thing what kept us there was the amazing view and air.

NOT AT ALL RECOMMENDED!

Came here with my family for lunch at the restaurant. The waiter was more than rude. We were about to sit when he said we need to pay upfront.
We ordered lunch, not even 10 minutes he came to ask if we would like something else as the restaurant and our table were quite the distance! Shocking! I won’t be coming here again and certainly will not recommend the place to anyone!

Very nice property; not up to date; not staffed well. Very clean and in very good repair, but several problems of varying severity.
-No Wifi in rooms, and poor mobile phone service. This is unacceptable in 2021.
-No bike and canoe rentals contrary to advertising.
-Toilet very nearly did not work. It took an amazing amount of water, patience, and ingenuity to flush solids.
-Restaurant served a bad mixed vegetables dish (freezer burned with bad taste). On the bright side, the menu has a detailed allergens guide.
-Tables not cleaned in restaurant.
-No English-speaking staff.

The view is great. However, the hotel does not live up to the standard you expect for the price. It's a bit ruined down, not really good looked after, the food at the restaurant is disappointing (the breakfast was fine), the spa is not appealing, some brown water running in the bathroom.
