Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Calgary Downtown

Unfortunately I did not have a great experiencie during my stay. I will put in bullets the issues that I had:

1. During the check in, the attendant was very rude. I didn’t see one little smile coming out from her mouth. I think she was up set with something personal…

2. There wasn’t fridge in my apartment. So, I did not have water and others drinks.

3. When I was looking to buy water cans, the lobby attendant told me to buy it using the pop machines around the floors. I went to all the floors and none of the machines were filled with water. So, the hotel does not have water to sell? It is crazy.

4. The AC of the room is automatic, you cannot change the degrees. During my sleep time it was really hot and I couldn’t do anything, just suffering and do not sleeping properly.

5. In my last day, the power of the room died. We did not have power to use the electrical stuff in the room (like coffee machine, lamps, others).

I will never come back there.

Absolute worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Drove 13 hours from Winnipeg to Calgary just to find out the A/C didn’t work. We were told we would be able to get some money back so we decided to stay. Had to ask for a small desk fan to cool the room which didn’t help what so ever. We were told that parts to fix the A/C would be in on our 3rd night so we decided to stop looking for another hotel. Turns out the A/C never was fixed on our 5 day stay even tho we were told it would be. They said they would give us 20% off each night the A/C did not work and we agreed. We just checked out this morning and called the front desk just to make sure the 20% off was still applied for each night the AC did not work (all 5 nights of our stay) and the receptionist said that they did not apply it to the last night for some reason and that they would talk with the manager. For a hotel that says they offer AC on their website to not inform people coming to their hotel before hand is absolutely disgraceful and unacceptable. Never stay here.

Our experience was very bad. There was no nice greeting when we got there. We unfortunately found out that our reservation had been booked for the previous day, which was our fault, however, the receptionist was very dismissive about it. We had to ask if there were any rooms available for the night and she told us that if we could find somewhere else cheaper online we were "welcome to go there." It felt like she was implying that we could not afford to stay there, which we found very insulting especially in front of other guests. We also had to ask about parking and were rudely told that it was a $20 a day extra charge for parking, again as if she expecting us to be unable to afford it. Upon checkout person at the front desk was again quite rude and not friendly or welcoming at all.
The room was dated, there was dust on the shelf and the tap leaked, over all not what we had expected, especially compared to other ramada hotels we had stayed at on our trip.
The only redeeming thing about our stay at this hotel was the valet who was the nicest and only members of staff that were welcoming and had a smile on their face.
